Disjointed.
First time I came here because the Google listing mentioned take out and was somewhat rudely informed that no take out was at that stage available. Brushed off to growing pains and decided to revisit some weeks later fast forward to last week's experience: I will be the first to admit that the food was in the 4 star range so Akita could have easily gotten an A- overall but the experience was so weird and disjointed that I would not give them a passing score. As soon as we were seated I saw that our table was greasy and clearly uncleaned from last partons. Eew. Ordering is only available though your mobile..not sure what I'd be doing if I didn't have my phone or was a cash customer but apparently welcome to the future folks. Hope you're comfortable with a janky pay website. Immediately post ordering we were told that the dishes we ordered weren't possible because they ran out of rice?!?! Lol Run to stop n shop instead of wasting you time telling us you have no rice maybe? Anyway, as per the whole janky website orders and all financials being kept off site thing no refunds were immediately possible so we were offered to " double up on our appetizers" instead of getting the app plus main course? ..Mind you apps are a half of course price so not sure how that's fair? Anyway, later one course magically appeared for us to split and you know it was actually really good. Not amazing as you could tell it was kinda improv with the last of rice they had but still! Good job back of house!!! Hope to get credited on the missing dishes ..will see lol. Also..that Beer neon is a fake it til you make it thing as no beer is served at the Akita. P.s. mandatory tips P.p.s. s&$t happens and growing up is hard but there's zero damage control there. No one with foresight to offer a proper resolution instead of "hey your s.o.l. -...
Read moreWe went for the first time today. Food itself is okay to relatively good. Except that Tonkatsu Ramen ‘max’ looks exactly the same size as ‘regular’. The only difference is the extra half egg. So it’s best to stay away from the Tonkatsu ‘Max’. Also the Tonkatsu soup tastes bland. Lacks the typical Tonkatsu aroma.
Service is not there either. QR code order is convenient for owner but not for customer. Once everything is added to order and I tried to proceed with Apple Pay, the website tried 3 times and showed initial success in charging but later shows error in processing. I tried to manually put in credit card details as well but the website shows error code again. I called the waitress to ask. They were so busy it took them 3 people and at least 20 minutes to finally get someone to tell me they will try to place order manually for me.
It was another 20 minutes with no updates from them. No one came to let us know order was placed. We had to call the waitress again to ask about the status. Their standard reply is ‘would be ready in minutes’. But obviously they totally forgot about the beer and drink we ordered that should have been served a long time ago.
Reminded them about the beer, and beer was served. Had to remind them about soft drink, then soft drink was served.
The waitress was extremely polite but didn’t solve problem and lacks communication. This entire dining experience was a disaster. I recommend avoid going there at...
Read moreIf you're a fan of ramen, you won't want to miss out on this amazing family-owned restaurant. We love to try new ramen spots every week, but usually have to travel into the city. Akita Ramen has quickly become our favorite. The food is simply amazing - from the savory broth to the perfectly cooked noodles, everything is just bursting with flavor.
But what really sets this restaurant apart is the hospitality. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. The staff, who are also the owners, made us feel like we were over their house and they were serving us dinner.
It's clear that this is more than just a business for the owners - they truly care about their customers and take pride in their craft.
I ordered the spicy miso ramen. The broth itself is incredibly rich and complex, with a depth of flavor that is hard to describe. It's clear that the chefs put a lot of time and effort into crafting the perfect blend of ingredients. And the noodles? They're cooked to perfection! We also got the Chicken Karaage which was tender and juicy in the inside but had a nice crisp on the outside.
Overall, I can't recommend this family-owned restaurant enough. If you're looking for incredible ramen, top-notch hospitality, and the feeling of being welcomed into someone's home, you won't be disappointed. We'll...
