Casey's — Restaurant in Ankeny

One of the employees making pizzas, etc. has longer curly hair. He had a hat on but no hair net and his hair was not pulled back. There was an open energy drink can sitting on the counter back there. The person that made my wrap did such a poor job. I wished later that I would've refused it. It was poorly made, barely "wrapped". And he just looked at the wrap like oh well, bagged it and that was it. I didn't ask for any tomatoes because they were swimming in liquid. The vegetable choices were not well stocked. And the store was not busy! We ordered two (poorly made) wraps and a sub. When the employee was trying to close the sub he cut through it with the knife. We were there January 23, 2016, around 4:30 p.m.

Big banner sign over front entrance says "home cooking to go " as I walk through the door I see a table of three employees waiting for a film crew to finish a shoot in their kitchen and I asked what home cooking do you have to go? Ah duh Pizza? Okay not the customer facing employees , so I go for coffee , but cream dispenser has a sticky note out of order, I ask if they can provide alternative milk for the coffee, kid points out gallon jugs of milk, I ask if he has one open, he says no, I said " your not suggesting that I buy a carton of milk for my coffee, he shrugs his shoulders. This is Casey's flag ship store near there distribution center and headquarters, try a Kum & Go store, they have very high end food for a convenience store and have...

Pretty standard gas station convenience store and just like most other Casey's stores. This one is kept pretty clean for as busy as it is. Would give more stars. However, they are really lacking in healthy food options. They do have salads but recently took away the option to have a custom salad made, even though they still have all the stuff to do so. Since they don't, you are forced to get all of the toppings and pick off what you dont want - which is extremely difficult with the shredded cheese. I would imagine this could be problematic for those who can't have certain toppings due to dietary restrictions...
