Meh! I've been coming to this place since the day it opened. It used to be a very good "bang for your buck" place to eat. We ate here a lot! We even got friends from surrounding communities coming here, too. So what happened to change all of this? Well, a few years ago, their prices started creeping up. OK, that's fine, it occasionally happens. But then it never stopped! I'm all for supporting small operations, but when those operations are starting to go a bit overboard and don't know when to ease off on their price increases, at some point you have to find somewhere else to go. Now the clincher for me to decide not to come back, as was my neighbors decision, too, is that their dine in option is STILL closed. Seriously? If at this point a restaurant is still not opening their dining rooms, they deserve to fail. I will not do business with anyone who, in the middle of March, are still refusing to open their dining areas. I won't do it! In fact, my neighbor who was in this place a few weeks ago, told the girl at the counter, "If they wont open up their dining room" he'd eat "somewhere else from now on". And he has and he...
Read moreWe stopped here on our way home to Dallas from Minneapolis, and let me tell you this place was fantastic. The food came out quickly and hot, and was very fresh. The ingredients were clearly top notch, and everything was super clean.
My parents had the Pho, which they said was excellent. The portion sizes were huge and the toppings they were given were ripe and fresh (cilantro, mint, limes, fresh bean sprouts, and jalepeño). Plus, my mom is allergic to gluten and they were easily able to make hers gluten free.
My husband had wonton soup and pot stickers and said the soup was stellar, and the pot stickers were large and perfectly cooked (fried and golden on the outside, but not dried out inside). I got the lunch special orange chicken and it came with fried rice, a cream cheese wanton, an egg roll, a cup of soup, and a fortune cookie. It was delicious, and the amount of food was extremely generous.
Overall this is just as good, if not better, than anything I can get in DFW. I cannot recommend this...
Read moreThe atmosphere alone is impeccable in this place, just stunning! I’m a biiiiig person on cleanliness, especially about where I eat. A huge indicator to me that a place probably isn’t cleanly is if their lobby is obviously dirty (ie.. multiple dirty tables, dead bugs on the windows seal, muddy floors, dirty condiment bottles, etc.) but Lucky Bamboo almost instantly put my mind at ease once I stepped foot into the business. Not only are they cleanly, but the food is delicious. I’ve lived in Iowa for going on 4 years now, and one of the biggest disadvantage I keep running into is poorly made, not appetizing oriental food. I truly only have a handful I would comfortably order takeout from and Lucky Bamboo is one of them! The service is quick too. I came in last time during a lunch rush hour at around 12:30-1 pm and all I had time to do was pick a seat, wash my hands, and then BOOM my plate of food was dropped in front of me. Hot and fresh, YUM! Overall, I’d say Lucky Bamboo is a GREAT...
