The WDM store is much nicer and larger then the Ankeny store. The Ankeny store needs a new Manager. I dont know what they did with a lady by the name of Branden. She should of been manager and allowed to redo that store. I have heard the manager at the Ankeny store speak rudely to cutomers and her employees. She doesnt ever do anything. I have stayed in the store long enough to see, because I just couldnt believe Michaels employees someone like her!! She doesnt help her new employees. She walks around with a scowl in her face. Anymore I just wait and go to the WDM store when I go to the Dr. The people are always nice there. Always helpful. The system they have for checking out is great! Michaels REALLY needs to get more of a selection of die cuts for the sizzix machines or similar machines. They hardly have any or never any in stock. Michaels online ordering really is a joke. Nothing is ever in stock to order. You cant ship to store in less the store has the item in stock! What the heck good is that! Or if it does say the store has it you cant purchase it online and reserve it to pick up online. WHAT THE HECK GOOD IS ANY OF THIS!??!!?? Why bother having it. Its a waste of time and effort. I am one many many thousands with disabilities. Being able to pay for something online and reserve it would save me time and pain plus anxiety. Over half america suffer from these issues. Michaels needs to really look at their online ordering deal and take a really hard look at their...
Read moreNever have I ever been treated so badly before, that this shouldn't even get a 1 star rating. Michael's has always been my go to place for crafting, however I was treated as if I was an idiot. I went there to buy canvases and paint. That's all I needed, and it was just a coincidence that they were having a sale. It was just perfect. 9 dollars for a 5 pack of 16 by 20. Just the perfect size with an 8 dollar pack of 24 acrylic paints. But that's not the best part. Once I got what I needed the next step was to pay for it. Online coupons were out of date though. No problem, I'll just pay for the clearance price. But, unluckily, the canvases were NOT on clearance. Well, ain't that just nice. The clearance tag was in the WRONG place. Using that excuse so I'll have to pay full price. No, I don't think so. It's not my problem that you're not competent enough to put the signs in the right place. I even told the cashier, Sheila, I would show her EXACTLY where the sign was. But, she had enough nerve to say, "ma'am you need to calm down. I'm going to honor it just this once, but it was the boards that are on sale not the canvases". Never have I ever felt so humiliated or belittled by an employee. You never argue with customers. The customer is always right, and that is law when it comes to working in customer service. I do not see myself going back there for a...
Read moreCame here on a Tuesday night to get paper that wasn't in stock in the West Des Moines Store. Self check out had a problem and the machine automatically called for a cashier. Not an employee in sight. After a few minutes, I realized there was a cashier at the first register, but was on their phone with their head down, not visible, and not paying attention to the flashing light on the self check out. Went to the register to have them help, they couldn't figure out how to make it work, either. Called up someone else, they couldn't help. Called up another person, they said none of the rewards coupons were working so they should just key it in as a vendor coupon. They did that, but didn't get the sale price entered on the item I was buying, so I lost money anyway. And don't even think you can contact someone from a corporate help desk online. They set up a veritable obstacle course to cut down on the number of people with enough time and patience to get in a complaint. I imagine Michael's won't be far behind Joann's in going out of business....
