Came in and had read the menu online, thank god because if not, I would have been completely overwhelmed with the handwritten chalkboard menu above the cases. I was already overwhelmed trying to order for my kids, at least I knew what I wanted. I placed our order for three sandwiches and two orders of fries and they said the total was $78!!!! I was like um that seems wrong, so the guy tried to ring it up different ways and every time it came to a different amount. The line was getting long behind us and I was getting impatient. He said it is $62, sorry. I still thought that was high but I paid, then I said that was the cost for three small sandwiches and two fries? And he said oh you wanted small sandwiches? (I had my two kids with me, of course I did!). Then he had to get someone to refund me and start over, my total ended up being $58, but when I got home it was supposed to be $48, so I was clearly overcharged! No itemized receipt to check and not happy about it. Food was just ok, and very busy atmosphere with shared tables. I got the Double Bite sandwich with fries. My daughter got a Plain Jane with ham and took one bite and wouldn’t eat any more.

I went with my 5yo daughter. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and garlic parm fries. I don’t think I got garlic parm fries. I told this twice to the guy that handed me my food. But he didn’t listen to me and I gave up. They were excellent fries, fried appropriately and crispy. The sandwich had chicken, pesto, cheese and a tomato on it. It was okay. The chicken and the tomato needed salt. There was a large portion of chicken and cheese on the sandwich. The amount of tomato and pesto on the sandwich were comparatively small. Bread was good. Sandwich was very large, pictured is 1/4 of the sandwich. They did include both sweet and dill pickles with the sandwich, which was nice.

I was here with my family a few nights ago. I ordered Reuben #1 & my husband got Reuben #2 and his son got a roast beef sandwich. Their food was pretty good. I’m a Reuben lover and I tried so many of them so far and I would say this Reuben was also good. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is only because of the place itself. They need to take care of it a bit more. The floor was a bit messy but other than that I liked everything here. If you’re not planning to dine in, it could be the best option for take out.

Went in due to some conversations with friends about the service and food. I tended to write this review two months ago but due to family problems I totally forgot until I went in yesterday and did not see the black girl there. I live in Arizona but I when I came back in town yesterday had to come back for the Ruben. Even brought two of my friends with me and they loved it. The service from two months ago was okay but not like before. The two people who made my experience great was not there but hope when I come back in town to see them again. But two months ago with it being my first time there the service is excellent. Went in and the black chick that was there was always smiling and very friendly. When she did not know something she made it clear she did not know and talked to the manger John I think his name was and he explained everything to the max and was very clear. They were the perfect team and her smile made me really feel welcomed there and glad that I choose to come in. Definitely will be back as long as I there is a friendly smile as warm as hers there. Recommend this place because of the service I received with John and the black girl I really wish I could have gotten her name because you don’t come across a person who smiles and welcomes customers and also wishes they have a great day...

I don't often leave reviews, but I've been so disappointed in my trips to Amer's over my years in Ann Arbor - today was the last straw. I go to Amer's twice a year, thinking each time that it'll have improved since my last stop. I stopped in today to snag a bagel sandwich, and a second bagel with lox. After finding out that they were out of lox, I switched to cream cheese - nothing about this should have been a complicated order. But after shelling out a $14 for this very basic breakfast, I waited 25 minutes before my name was called. After getting back to my office, I found that not only was the sandwich bland and flavorless, I found a SIGNIFICANT amount of mold caked into my cream cheese bagel. I'm profoundly disgusted not only by this, but by the lack of attention to basic health code standards. I've worked in cafes for YEARS, and this places comes nowhere close. I wanted to like Amer's, and I've given it many chances, but I always walk out having spent too much money for what ends up being disappointing at best, and...
