QDOBA Mexican Eats — Restaurant in Ann Arbor

Their employess are both rude and ignorant to where they work. Apparently the staff there isn't told that 'queso' means 'cheese' in English, so if one of the servers ask you "Queso?" and you reply 'shredded', they will dump a whole ladle of liquid cheese all over your food.

When I asked "Why did you just do that? I said I wanted shredded." the girl replied "I asked if you wanted queso." I said "I know what you said. I speak Spanish. Queso means cheese. Which is why when you asked, I said shredded." The girl then rudely stated "Well I don't speak Spanish." Nevermind the fact that every time the word 'Queso' comes out of her mouth, she's speaking Spanish, at a Hispanic/Latino themed restaurant, in an area heavily populated by aforementioned decent, and the majority of who are probably bilingual and have the same understanding of both the English and Spanish languages like I do. If you ask me if I want "queso", I'm going to think you're asking me if I want cheese.

I wouldn't have been so irked had she offered to remake my food after dumping a bunch of stuff on it that I didn't ask for, but she just pushed the food down the line as if she couldn't be bothered with acknowledging she just messed up.

Not sure if it's a default on management's end for lack of training, or if the girl is really that naturally oblivious to what she's asking people, but either way; to add unwanted ingredients to someone's food and use the excuse that you don't know what you're repeatedly asking multiple people, is absurd to me. And to then give the customer an attitude and not attempt to correct the issue? That's completely unacceptable if you're a facility that serves the public.

First time going here I signed up online and recieved free chips and queso along with 5.00 off order. O sunday I drove 3 miles to the Washtenaw locatio despite reading the terible reviews. They had been addressed by the owner and I figured it would be ok. It wasn't. I walked in slipped on a spill, fortunatly it was minor. I got to the counter and wow, everything was either empty or almost empty and it was not very neat or clean. the server was nice ,not knowledgable about the menu items. I decided on the bowl she suggested the steak was good, but it was sitting on the counter not in the hot tray so I passed even though it woold have been 1st choice.She added 1 spoon of beans to my "brisket" I asked for more she added more there were no peppers an not much of anything else I got a few other toppings and inside I was thinking I knew I should have trusted the reviews. I dont understand how you have 3-4 people working and the food and prep area is messy and not filled up and fresh which was the case nothing looked fresh hot or cold items. Wipe the counters smile engage with customers. Anyway I get to register showed her my rewards and rewards number she acted like it wasnt the right info then tried to enter something a couple times and said the program was down. I said ok. And left without my 19.00 order and no aplogy. WOW! all the bad reviews and the manager answered all of them that complaints had been addressed. Have they? I would...

I've been here twice. First time I Had the special tacos which we're good. Threw me off that the workers didn't know what asada was. 🙄 I was asked "what kind of meat?", I responded with asada. coming from California everybody knows what ASADA is. So I aussumed. But How do you not know what asada is at a Mexican Restaurant? 🤔 I said grilled steak... And it's cubed up steak pieces 😂 taste like steak but throws off meat for sure. Why isn't it chopped us flap meat? Skirt steak?

2nd time I asked for a burrito and dude asked me what kind of beans, i said pinto(why would a Mexican place have any other beans or rice??), dude gave me black beans . 😑 But I didn't b*tch because you know im not that guy. 😂 Added whatever I wanted and dude attempting to roll the burrito... But couldn't. 😑 He proceeded to bandage the mistake by just using the foil to cover the mistake 🤔🤣

This was no burrito, it was a very large soft taco. Lol. I asked for a bowl, because I knew of the incoming danger.

At the end of the day, I'm not even mad. Just giving people a heads up and maybe Qdova will read this and say hey, these kind of reviews drive them to be more Authentic.
