I've been going to Webers for almost 5 decades and it has been a top choice in our family for most of our birthdays and anniversary meals. Unfortunately after last night's experience, I don't know if we will be back. It was my husband's birthday dinner and because our service and food experience was so poor that he kept apologizing to me cause I was so annoyed that it was so far off from the Webers experience that we know and love. He should not have felt he had to apologize during his birthday meal. Other people we had talked to that day who normally love Webers like us had warned of the drop in quality of their experience and unfortunately we found out the hard way we should have gone some place else like they had warned us too.
Our waitress was horrid. I don't know if we were her first table and she had just started, but her training must have been terrible and lacking. The table next to us had a different waitress who was awesome and attentive to her table and I had huge waitstaff envy. We had to call for ours at least 3 times because she was legit not ever in our section. We ordered our drinks and she tried bolting away, had to ask her to stay so we could put in our appetizers and she obviously looked and acted dismissive and rushed. Had to call her in at the end of our apps cause she still hadn't bothered to take our main course meal. I've never still had menus at the table at a nicer establishment that late in the meal before. We've always had great service in the past but she would have been poor even at a fast casual restaurant. We've always felt that tipping upwards of 25% at Webers in the past, but felt cheated giving her a 10% tip.
The food was also sub par. The whitefish pate was almost devoid of taste, this is normally a favorite. I ordered the lobster bisque, another long time favorite, and that was also incredibly bland. I sent that back as it wasn't worth the calories. I got the escargot and that was better, but still bland. Instead of the puff pastry you used to get or the toast points you standardly receive, I was given these super hunks of toasted chapati bread. I was so confused.... its not like I was going to manhandle them into the appropriate size for eating with the escargot. Its the absolute wrong bread for this. At least the ribeye was good, but by that time I was so disappointed and over my experience for the evening that it didn't even matter.
I am legit stunned. I don't know why everything was so poor and frankly it will be one of the last places I will want to go to in the future. Such a disappointment for our...
Read moreChose to take my wife to Weber's last Saturday for our wedding anniversary. Made reservations and arrived about 20 minutes early. Checked in and we were seated. The atmosphere was nice and elegant. The wait hostess and wait staff were polite and curious. The table was great and set perfectly. This is where things began to go wrong. As we ordered drinks and appetizers we started to hear a group of around 15 in an area adjacent to our table. This group were not behaving in a way appropriate to the atmosphere. There were many vulgar comments being made and there general language and behavior was more in line with a dive bar than a high end restertrant. Looking around at patrons seated in our area I could see that we weren't the only dinners appalled by there behavior. My wife finally said something to our server and the manager went over to the table to speak with them addressing there behavior. Needless to say the restertrant continued to serve them alcohol and there behavior did not change. It got to a point where I got up and addressed there behavior myself. Something that I never would have done if it had not been so disturbing. I sat back down and tried to enjoy our dinner but things continued to escalate. The manager spoke to them again and then approached our table. She was very nice and apologized for there behavior. She the offered to move us to a different table. This is where I completely lost faith in this establishment. Instead of actually addressing the problem they catered to them and offered to move us. Mind you this entire time they were still serving them. I declined and just asked for our bill. The manger insisted on comping our dinner and packaged our food nicely. This was a very nice of her but again she just side stepped the actual issue. It is ashame that once I said something to the group I had 3 other patrons come up to our table and thank me for doing what the restertrant should have done in the first place. Needless to say we will be exploring other dinning options for special occasions...
Read moreCame here to celebrate my husband's birthday. From the time we arrived it took more than 10 minutes to seat us, even though we had made a reservation earlier in the week. The hostess looked confused! That should have been our first clue things were not going to go well! The server Dallas was friendly but not attentive. He let us know that the beer on tap was out that my husband wanted so then we asked about the dessert right away because the last time we dined they had awesome apple pie. So he said he would make sure he would let the kitchen know to save 3 pieces to celebrate my husband's birthday. Upon getting our dinner the steaks were way over cooked and the mashed potatoes were cold, as well as the pasta my son had ordered. We asked for drink refills and those took so long to get, I actually set my timer on my phone and it took nearly 14 minutes. He comped the beer, although I would rather pay for it and get it quicker than wait till we were all done with dinner....The mashed potatoes were replaced with hot ones but it's not the best dining experience when your food is not all at once and some people are finished before you. My daughter's steak had to be remade because it was way over cooked. He did not even check to see if everything was okay until after we notified a different staff member. He then told us that even though he requested the kitchen staff to set aside the 3 pieces of apple pie that they only had one left which was a disappointment. So some had to settle on other dessert options which weren't anything special. They did take the dessert off the bill, but again I rather pay for it and get what we ordered. Overall the whole birthday dinner experience was ruined. We will not be back. Disappointing, we will stick to the Gandy Dancer for future celebrations where they serve amazing hot food and the staff is phenomenal and attentive! We came for a the amazing food we had before you could have gotten better service and...
