Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Contiguous United States

Very very rare for me to rate a restaurant low, but I was so frustrated that I feel it warrants it.

Google said the Popeyes on Defense St. in Annapolis was open for dine-in. It wasn't. While my husband was in the very slow drive-thru, I went to the door to ask to use the restroom & they said no (if it's a state or county mandate due Covid, then ok, but keep your Google listings updated - people use Google to find out these things).

Then, after a long wait in line, I went to order the heavily advertised flounder sandwich (the whole reason I went). There were signs everywhere, including in the store and online on the website. It even has the flounder sandwich available if ordering online for the Defense St. location, but they said they don't have it and it's not coming back until next year! What????? They are advertising this sandwich literally everywhere! On TV, in media publications, on signs, everywhere!

I got the chicken sandwich to substitute. I asked for no sauce and they put nothing on it - no pickles or anything else that might go on it, not sure. Got the sandwich and just so you are aware, it's really really greasy. I would have liked to at least have the pickle on it. Not what I was expecting at all and not what I wanted in the first place.

I had a bad experience at this location. It was Sunday so I stopped for a chicken sandwich since I couldn't get one at Chick-fil-A. The drive-thru was long but we patiently waited. We ordered a sandwich and fries, and a 5 count tender meal with fries. After we ordered we waited for three cars in front to get their food. When we got to the window the person working was less than friendly. We completed the transaction and we pulled away since we had a long drive ahead of us. My wife distributed the food to us and quickly found out that the sandwich that brought us to the store was missing. It took a while for me to find the only unlocked door. I waited inside in a very tiny space they have blocked off for a while before someone came to ask why I was there. Finally, someone came and told me it was going to take 2 minutes to make the sandwich I was supposed to already have. When he brought it to me a manager also came to apologize which was a nice gesture. The sandwich that I waited so long for had to have been freshly made which is good. It did not taste as good as the last Popeyes sandwich I ate closer to home. This one tasted like it was coated in corn flakes. I don't intend to stop at this location again, even...

Worst customer service that have ever experienced at this location. Manager taking my order through the drive through. I asked for 8 pieces nuggets she asked me what side before I could say what I wanted she told me fries ok . I said no I didn’t say fries and she said fries and again I said no . Manager said what sauce my reply was I am reading the list of sauces manager says ok barbecue. I get to the window asked her to repeat my order and she hands me the order something told me to open the box and bag . Low and behold fries and chicken wings. I said to the manager this is not nuggets it’s wings. I told her I’ll just keep the wings since I picked one up with my hand and just forget about the nugget order. The manager said no you have to give that order back now . So I told her just give me a refund because your customer service is really bad . The manager said I don’t care, so I said I am calling the corporate office about how you treat customers. The manager didn’t even care at all.
