😃‼️ The new owners did a Super-nice job of updating the place without losing the basic bones of the past: that PERFECT stage and dance floor are untouched 🎶, the pool tables are still there-- as is the loooong bar-- and the same open-floorplan, breezy space--but there's a new "lounge" area that will land well with..Whomever. 👍
Update 9-Dec: VERY heavy Security all over the place-- they CLEARLY didn't do any research on norms and standards for Annapolis-area bars. (I SUGGEST the management take a field trip to a Stan&Joe's West, Dark Horse, or any Ram's Head venue). The place looks like a jobs program for Security trainees 😡 Be ready for a 100% full-body pat-down, standing outside in the cold. TOTALLY Not Necessary-- this is NOT the 9:30 Club and should not be locked-down like a downtown D.C. or Baltimore joint‼️
▪︎Update 30-Dec-22: The owner posted a reply to my feedback (below) right away, so I do believe they genuinely want to strike the right balance between Guest Safety and a Fun environment. That said, they're still missing the mark: I was there again a few weeks later: While waiting (and shivering) in the line outside, I saw two couples-- one of which is a person I know-- walk away after realizing they'd be waiting for 15-20 mins to get inside and-- this is KEY-- none of them, men OR women, were down to being PATTED-DOWN/FRISKED by these big, intimidating individuals ("we're not CRIMINALS, TBH"). What's almost WORSE: during the course of my evening inside, I heard more than one of the women with and around me complain that they didn't like the Security guards-- one posted at either end of the stage-- staring at them as they danced. These "guards" are also apparently trained to randomly stroll right through the middle of people dancing in groups. Not clear whether that's their way of showing a "high-visibility" Security presence or is just a power-trip by those individual guards. Either way, it's a vibe-KILLER and again, NOT necessary in the Greater Annapolis music scene. Around here we regularly hold large nighttime music events indoor/outdoor (think "Eastport-a-Rockin' ") with Hundreds of guests, and there's nothing close to the level of heavy-handed "Security" throughout the venue...
Read moreIf I could give this place negative stars I would. I've been 3 times and all three times the service has been terrible. No bar backs, short staffed on bartenders. Paid $30 to see the Reagan Years, (which was sold out) obviously the management did not prepare for this. Could not get a drink when I walked in. A friend who was in line got me one. The next trip to the bar waited 34 minutes and still didn't have a drink, so I left. This place will never see me or my money again until ownership or management changes. It's sad because they have one of the best PA's and stage setups for bands in town. It won't last long because the word is out about the service...
Read moreMy Family and I went to see the Regan Years and had a awesome time . So when we arrived the bartender asked if we would like to run a tab I said sure so she asked for my c/card she ran it and returned it to me . At the end of the night I asked to close my tab she presented bill which total was $114.30 with tip check no. 5913 . All was good until I checked my account this morning and have four charges on my c/card $25 / $77 / $102 plus the $114.30 one totalling $318 So Vibe what's wrong with this picture when customers give you there card it is your responsibility to treat it securely. Are you going to fix or do I have to go...
