MISSION BBQ — Restaurant in Annapolis

So many small things could improve at this location to make it the most spectacular experience. My main disliking is the price for the quality & minimal 🅿️ for a restaurant that has extremely grown in high demand for I believe almost 10 or so years. At one point this was my brother’s monthly food supply. So I’d have it usually on his dime so ik what to expect but you know food taste different on your own dime and my reasons for waiting to become a 1st time independent customer wasn’t cliché. I’m not a fan of the aroma tbh for a smoke house pit I always expect a stronger cookout welcoming. The decorations are fine they just need a pop of vibrance that brings the I don’t want to leave in the mission meaning tap all day at 1/2 cost b/c it’s appetizer heavy game time on extended hour family bbq Saturday. Coming from a cook on bereavement break… The brisket aroma is the worse to me the juice it’s cooked in smells artificial with a funk unlike the other meats! The beans are overwhelmingly sad after a while of continuing to partake in them as they surely can do without the meat, the Mac & greens have always been the greatest side to me on the menu although the Mac could be cooked for 30mins less many times (less crisp on top). The sauces are fantastic always I tried the new salmon which needed less season more juice (lemon butter style friend) as the only reason I have to come back is to try the new whole bird which is always a bbq classic to my heart ofc w/ a side of collards. Expand your desserts (get a vendor don’t be cheap!!) get a larger facility have more outdoor seating get the juke box back & maybe a 🐂 if you love us and support the community for the price you charge us; show us your service truly...

Service is always great at Mission. This was my first day of eating a carnivore diet so I figured Mission would be a great spot to grab some fatty meat and they didn't disappoint. Grabbed an order of their moist brisket which comes from the point (fatty) end of the brisket and they had their smoked, ribeye as the black plate special which I also ordered. The brisket was great as usual, nice and smokey, with just the right amount of seasoning. No need for any additional sauce. Now, I've had the ribeye plenty of times before so I had confidence in it being as good, if not better than the brisket. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. They do grill it some once the cut it off the prime rib and the person grilling the steak was distracted. To their defense I came in right before the had to assemble a big catering job so that was all hands on deck. As a result, my ribeye ended up being pretty much well done. Still tasted good, but the majority if the fat had been rendered from the steak. If you get this when it's available, I'd ask for it to be quickly seared if I were eating it in or ask to not heat it a all if getting it to go, just to avoid the potential of an overcooked steak. Fabulous visit! I love how Mission BBQ pays homage to our veterans and active duty personnel along with fire fighters, police officers and pretty much any department that serves. Kudos to you Mission BBQ! I salute you! I came in with a friend last evening and was greeted by the sweetest and most patient young lady named Ally. She waited for me to place my order without rushing me. Shared information with me about Mission BBQ and Miguel stepped in with information. These two are quite knowledgeable about the beginning of this establishment and how far it has come. I loved how they worked as a team and enjoy what they do. They were so welcoming and all this before they knew we were veterans. Mission BBQ...you have two great people working with you. They serviced us very well! They were very polite, attentive and informative. We really didn't want to leave. Another young lady came along named Katie who just topped our visit there off.
