The host was nowhere to be found when we first arrived, if there had not been 1 other table seated I would have assumed the hours were wrong and they weren't open. Once we were acknowledged we were seated and the server brought out a carafe of water, but did not fill our glasses for us, (which whatever, but that is the norm) the water had a strange taste to it and I asked if they had bottled water available (which I never do) but they did not. The menus we received did not at all match the one listed online, which was disappointing right off the bat as the posted menu looked quite good. Regardless, we ordered a couple of appetizers to share and after waiting nearly 20 minutes were approached by the cook to be told they were out of the potato dish, a few minutes later we finally received our Ceasar salad and mussels. More than half of the mussels were unopened (a sign of spoilage) and the others had an overly fishy taste and rubbery texture, when I pointed this out to the server she seemed annoyed and went to the kitchen and returned to tell me that the cook said they were frozen, and still in date so they "should be fine" I asked to have them removed from the bill and she did it but still seemed to be upset about it. Also the salad was very underdressed and tasteless, I squeezed the lemon from my water on it so it had some taste other than plain romaine, rather than say anything since the server was already being pretty rude. At this point I really just wanted to go ahead and leave, but my daughters were very hungry and we had to be somewhere in the next 30 minutes so I didn't think we'd have time to try and get something elsewhere. A good 15 minutes later we finally got our entrees. My eldest had ordered the house burger which said it came with pork belly, this was not on there and once again the server seemed annoyed when I pointed that out, she came back with some bacon about 5 minutes later. I pointed out that while bacon is technically made of pork belly it is not the same thing that one would expect when pork belly is what is listed on the menu, at this point she snapped at me that she didn't make the menu and the cook (who she said is also the manager) told her it was the same thing and that pork belly "is bacon" rather aggressively and shoved the plate at me. (There was another burger on the menu that had "bacon" listed, so seemingly he does know there is in fact a difference or else the two wouldn't be listed differently on the menu!) My daughter also said the burger was dry and overcooked but at this point she was just so hungry and knew we didn't have time to go somewhere else so she just kept it. I had ordered the snapper and it was so tough and overcooked that I couldn't bring myself to eat it and asked her to please take it back and off my check because of this and once again she seemed angry at me, stormed off, and came back arguing with me that the cook/manager said he had temped it and "that is right" It was tough and chewy, like overcooked fish usually is, I told her I would not be paying for something I could not eat regardless of if he thought it was right or not and she rolled her eyes and stormed off again. Nearly 10 minutes after that she finally came back with the adjusted check which still came to 45 dollars for plain romaine, and 2 overcooked burgers with frozen crinkle cut fries, one of which was the smaller "kid's burger" I still tipped her 10$ and expressed to her that I know what happens in the kitchen isn't her fault, but also her attitude was awful and she's lucky I left her anything. Terrible experience all the way around and I encourage anyone who doesn't want to get ripped off being served garbage food by a server with a garbage attitude to...
Read moreAdding a star because all the food we actually got was really good.
We walked in Thursday night at 5pm and were the only customers in the restaurant. A little weird, but we were eating early, so maybe it'll pick up by the time we leave.
We ordered some drinks from the bar and an appetizer. I asked the waitress what her favorite app was and she said she doesn't really work there and hasn't had much of the food. Ok, fine- I picked the fried potatoes. She goes to put the order in, comes back a little while later and says they're out of the sauce and that really makes the potatoes.
Ok, fine. We'll do the spinach and artichoke dip instead. That comes out and it's pretty good.
Time to order the food- I try to order the strawberry salad, but they are out of strawberries. So, I order the house burger with mac and cheese. My boyfriend ordered fried chicken tenders.
Food comes out and my burger was nothing like advertised. I ordered this burger because it had pepperjack cheese, arugula, aioli, pork belly and crispy shallots. It came out with cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, raw pieces of white onion and no pork belly. My boyfriend's chicken tenders came out grilled.
So, at this point we've tried to order 2 things they don't have and then all our food came out wrong. I send my burger back to have the right stuff added to it and they came back and said they don't have pork belly.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE?!?
So, I ordered fried chicken tenders and we got my boyfriend's done correctly... all in all we left not really knowing how this place is still in business. The food was good- chicken tenders were great when we finally got them, mac and cheese was good, spinach dip was good... but good lord! They don't have any of their menu to actually cook and everything came out wrong when we were the ONLY TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT.
We left a little after 6 and there was still no one there. Can't say...
Read moreThis was SOOO disappointing! The Mac and Cheese was pretty good. Thats where it ended! My wife ordered a Lulu's Po Boy (shrimp)... SUPER tiny bread with 5 medium size shrimp on it. Came with a side of crinkle fries - obviously frozen, but more so the little niblets from the botton of the bag. (Shouldn't need a fork to eat fries). NOT worth $14! I ordered "The House Burger" (peppercorn aioli, arugula, crispy shallots, pork belly, and jack cheese on a potato bun)... came out with NO peppercorn aioli, pork belly OR jack cheese... just a TON of tiny onions on top. Sent it back - but at this point took over 45 mins to get this. Another 20 mins later it comes back and she says "This ones perfect".... This time got the cheese and aioli sauce but now missing the pork belly and onions. She offered for make the 3rd, but now we're over and hour, hungry and late for our place we were going too. Server was very nice, but WAY over priced and SOOO slow especially when getting half the order wrong twice. AND, the place was dead at noon on a Saturday. We're the only table there. How can you take this long AND screw up so bad. Give the chef a menu to look at maybe? Also, we went to The Wharf in Leeds on the way home... they made the BEST Shrimp Po Boy (2nd picture)... also $14. You guys might want to run up there and see...
