I arrived at the restaurant, and while waiting I noticed, there was a sign behind the front podium that said "Power and WiFi available". But when I asked my waitress about sitting near a power outlet, she just looked at me, shook her head, and said "No...".
Then she seated me, she jotted down my drink, came back with it. Cool and good. (This is also where I noticed my laptop was almost dead. So much for "Power... available")
What wasn't cool and good is she neglected to check in on me after serving me my food, and my drink sat with ice-nothing for a good fraction of an hour. I eventually had to ask a waitress who wasn't mine for a refill, twice (because believe it or not, people get thirsty when they're eating).
After I finished my food, I was still thirsty (and I wanted to take advantage of my unlimited refills advertised in big on the menu), however my waitress did not check in on me for a full HOUR. The only time I was ever checked on by the waitress who seated me was immediately after the waitress who wasn't mine served me a refill.
After I had enough of (what I believed to be) a terrible service, I eventually got up to pay my bill, being once again helped by the same waitress who wasn't mine. I wish I could have left HER a tip instead of the waitress who seated me, but I didn't want to ask about that.
My review would have only 1 star if it wasn't for the other waitress, who went out of her way to serve me drinks and ring me out.
Edit: To clarify, this was at midnight service on 6/13. I remember it was busy, but I barely ever saw my original waitress on the...
Read moreVisiting the area from another state. Denny's has always been my go-to spot for a little food and good coffee. But, not this time! We were a party of four. Not too late in the evening when we ventured out. We were all masked up and ready to just relax. When we entered, the lady, who's name I did not catch, did not great us with the normal, "Welcome to Denny's!" Instead, we were immediately told we must all show our COVID vaccination cards. Ummm....ok. NO! I am vaccinated. My husband is vaccinated. However, the lady who asked to see our cards is not a medical professional who is governed by the Hippocratic Oath. So, my personal information on my card is not for her eyes. Nor is any other part(s) of my medical records. It's called the HIPAA law! And she violated that law when she opened her mouth. Now, with that being said, I am not upset with the lady. She probably has no idea what she did. (I do because I have a medical background, as well as many of my family and friends.) However, Denny's legal team and the government of California know these things. They also know that what they are requiring people to do is unconstitutional. Dually noted! We took our business elsewhere. We enjoyed our coffee and ourselves without issue at a different establishment, where we were greeted with a warm welcome. And take this little tidbit with you...you NEVER know who your next customer will be. Happy holidays!
Signed by a very disappointed loyal Denny's customer. Well, at least I had been for the...
Read moreI want to start by saying the staff were friendly, helpful and working hard! That being said, The process of making a simple phone order is ridiculous and will push customers to other restaurants. Spent 10 minutes on the phone with an AI operator and it eventually got my order exactly as I requested and then it said it was transferring the order to an operator and then some call center guy in India took the call and said the AI didn't give him any order at all and I had to start over from scratch and he understood English even less well than the AI did. I took the Indian guy longer than the AI to type in my order and then he said it wasn't working for some reason and he had to transfer me to the store. The server at the store was awesome and took the order quickly and said it would be ready at 10:30. I showed up at 10:35 and the order was ready, but the beverage wasn't. The bathrooms were locked and there was nobody around to give me the code. I eventually got my smoothie, but my food was cold by then and the portion of fries was a small handful at best. The grill onions were not grilled so much as merely warmed up. The staff was hustling and working hard and friendly, but there's definitely some room for...
