I’ve never given a restaurant a one star but this place is most deserving. When I walked in, the decor was left over from the former wine bar and in no way resembled an Irish pub/eatery. There were thee of us and we sat ourselves at a table. Our waitress came along and offered menus on a clip board That was clumsy and unnecessary since a hole and a ring could have kept all three pages together. I asked about the house wine and she gave me the name and thanked her and told her that I would have the Pinot Noir. My friends put their order in and she looked at me and said “ I’m not a mind reader, what do you want?” I repeated my order and looked at my friends in shock, they all heard me order so we had no idea where that came from. Our wine came and it was excellent! Our food however was terrible. The pot pie was a grey soup with a Shamrock pastry cutout on top. The fish and chips was probably the worst, two pieces of fish that were smaller than the size of a playing card and about 3/8 inch thick. They were cooked in a air fryer which we thought would be ok since I’ve had success with using one myself. ( Deep fryers are available for $50.00) the fish was just terrible and it was due to the quality of the fish not necessarily the equipment. Gordon’s frozen is better! ( it was sent back by our neighboring table) I ordered the bangers and mash it came with two good size sausages stuck upright in a cup Of instant potato’s . Not a great presentation as you can imagine. It was just ok. Potato’s were terrible.
They had entertainment, it was a gentleman on the piano playing 80’s sad songs very loudly. Clearly he was left over from the wine bar days because he had 6 adoring fans. The rest of us needed ear plugs so that we could speak to each other. No Irish music at an Irish bar ? When we asked for our check the waitress stood at the table printing off our tab one copy at a time. 3 per person. I asked if she had a pen and she said yes and pointed to her pocket. Ok, she’s right, I didn’t ask to use the pen, I asked if she had one. We told her about the fish and she said they are training a new cook she didn’t understand that it was the quality of the fish . Couldn’t get her to understand it at all. She was was convinced that it was the cooks fault. They have been in business for 30 days and already training a new cook. But no matter, it wasn’t their fault that the owner purchased a terrible product. $120.00 out the door and it was a terrible experience. I was rooting for them because I really wanted a good Irish pub to go to. Save your money, because...
Read moreWe love Stephie’s!!💚🍀
My boyfriend, roommates, and I are regulars here, and it’s easily the best pub in the Apopka area. It’s a must go to!
The staff is absolutely wonderful, and have been amazing every time we visit. They’re personable, provide great service, and make each time we go in fantastic! Couldn’t brag about their staff more, they’re awesome!
This pub also always has fun events—from live music, to music bingo, to specials. Something entertaining is always happening at this pub, no matter what day you go. We have also loved the close the box game. When you’re at the bar, it’s enjoyable and is fun for both weekends and weeknights.
Their food is also the best we’ve had. Finding delicious wings in Florida is definitely a challenge, but let me tell you, this place has them! Monster Dragon Wings are top-tier. They have great flavors, like Garlic Buffalo and Memphis Wheat. For a sauce, I’d recommend their Jerk Spice Mayo. It’s different, tasty, and pairs well with any order. Their Irish Tater Logs are a phenomenal appetizer, whether you’re craving bacon, or a spicy jalapeño. If you come for lunch, they also always have specials on their chalkboard outside—the fried cod and taters are perfect. And of course, for traditional Irish dishes, you’ll never have to look further after trying the Bangers and Mash from Stephie’s! After, it doesn’t stop there, please try their desserts. The carrot cake is rich and sweet!
For drinks, their bar always has the best on tap. Every half-and-half they serve—we’re talking black and tans, snake bites, black and blues—are excellently made, every time. If you’re looking for an Irish bar, with the best Guinness you could drink, you’ve found it! In addition, they have wine, cocktails, and rotations from local breweries. You’ll never go here wondering what you’d want for a drink, because they definitely have it.
Overall, Stephie’s is a must visit. I recommend it to all my family and friends, but especially you as you read this review! This pub is has it right—go in as soon as you can, it’s...
Read moreUPDATE: Notice dear Google Reader, that in her lengthy and unwelcome rant, she takes ZERO responsibility for ANY of the issues experienced. Piles excuses on top of excuses then wraps it up with a "God bless" or similar; look at any Negative Review for this place. I am not insulting anyone, simply stating FACTS. For instance, 254 Reviews is not "over 600" FACT. Atrociously slow & poor "service." So understaffed the cook was running food... TWICE to our table while we were still holding menus, and told him the 1st time we hadn't ordered yet. Yes, they were busy, as should be expected any Friday night. But this was a hot mess... period. HIRE MORE AND MORE COMPETENT SERVERS... the one we thought was "ours" completely disappeared for about 45 minutes. Had to go to the bar to get our own straws 20 minutes after requesting (which are unwrapped and twice as tall as the glasses... must have been on sale), the first food order was wrong, asked for beverage refill which never came, NEVER asked if we wanted another round, exactly ONE extra napkin for the whole table (for sandwiches & finger food?), had to return to the bar to tab out 30 minutes after asking, from the moment we came in Staff was "snippy" at best due to stress from their glaring inability to handle volume serving at a BASIC level. I don't need nor want to hear excuses from the Owner as I've read them all here already. Spend that time fixing your operation...
