Came to the Hall on 5th recently for my first time and took a look around. I wanted to go to my top three most interesting restaurants, and Thrive was definitely one of them. I talked with the employee there, and she had some good insights on some of their best food items. I was sold.
I started out with their Small, Dark & Handsome Sliders (Blackberries, Brie Cheese, Thyme-infused Honey, Cucumber, Microgreens). A nice-sized patty for a slider, but everything else was lacking in quantity. I could tell there was some blackberry there, and some brie, but I could not sense any textures from those two ingredients. Just a bit disappointing.
I also got the Korean Buffalo Chicken Bao (Korean Buffalo Fried Chicken, Sour Pickles, Scallions, Togarashi, Sesame Seeds). Very good flavor from the chicken, and with a little patty that small, the crunch-to-meat ratio was very nice. But the bao bun itself was a little dense and doughy, a far cry from some of the other big bao players in town.
