A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Appleton

So, I stopped in this location in Appleton, only to NOT purchase any food. And that’s because, the restaurant itself inside was absolutely disgusting. The floors were sticky like they haven’t been mopped, there was a grotesque odor inside the restaurant, and looking behind the register into the kitchen area, there was pools of dirty water, all over the floor, along with trash, the outside of the restaurant by the garbage cans was disgusting. Furthermore, I researched reviews of this specific A&W before coming here, and others mentioned similar observations to mine as well, but I wanted to verify myself. This is by far one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever encountered with uncleanliness. I’m glad I did go inside to see that mess, because can you imagine all these customers going through the drive-thru unknowingly how their food is handled after they consume it? That’s pure nastiness. This specific restaurant needs to be reported to the Outagamie health department immediately for a health & safety audit.

Furthermore, I know the ‘owner’ is aware of these conditions inside the restaurant, because he/she has directly responded to other past customers concerns in Google reviews and this restaurant is still operating in this condition? Unacceptable and it needs to be shut down, or it will just eventually go out of business due to other complaints in addition. (i.e- Long wait times, sanitary concerns, rude employees, ect).

I’m all about diversity and supporting restaurants, but only those who strive to properly ensure the restaurant is held to a high standard of cleanliness, and this location does not. And to the ‘owner’ who is reading this review, do better in holding your A&W to a higher level of accountability or get out of this industry....

As an ex employee and going back after a month or so, the food has gotten worse. The wait for the lines are bad, having to wait several minutes when there isn't a single person on line. Then to wait to pay, wait for the drink alone and then the food. The employees there are generally fun to talk to since I used to work with them, but the manager had nothing to say to me. She talked as little as she could, but as I now work as a grocery store employee. I now learn that I was supposed to be greeted and everything, with a smile and eye contact. I did not get that at all. Not to also mention that when I worked there, as a minor I would work for 8 hours straight without a break some days because we were "understaffed". We are understaffed at the place I work now, but I still get a 15 minute break or longer. I don't even work the shifts that I used to work and I still am told that I need a break.

Overall, Food is getting worse. Close to always cold or just gross (I have gotten a terrible stomach ache a few hours later after eating there once) Wait for service and food is bad, having to wait 10 or more minutes just for simple things even though it is a "Fast" Food restaurant. Store has been gross on the inside, I'm surprised there aren't mice in the back yet. Management is bad, had to quit because of it. I personally will no longer be going there because of how poor their performance has...

This location needs to have better training. I ordered a burger with no tomato, yet i get a tomato on my burger. Other items i have ordered only to have them messed up or forgotten. Last time i went through the drive through they took my card and scanned it inside, not this time, the girl holds out the card reader and i cant scan my card cause she's holding it below my window. I'm sorry but my arm doesn't bend like that. I ask her to raise the machine and she tells me she can't its as far as the cord will go..... i quit asking at that point and drove forward to open my door to scan my card. Could someone please train her that the cord doesnt need to be longer in order to ROTATE THE BOTTOM OF THE CARD MACHINE TOWARDS THE SKY SO SOMEONE CAN PUT THEIR CARD IN THE SLOT! That would be great if you could cause i didnt bother for i felt she wouldnt get the concept. Also, when someone asks for no tomato please make a burger with no tomato and don't be lazy about it. Some of us are allergic to certain things and would like to continue to breathe. I'm sure I'm going to get a lame response that is either automated or a lie that things will be "looked into". I think I will stop going to this a&w or maybe find another one that is hopefully owned by someone else and knows how to run a business and train...
