I typically get my new release games from this location. I do my best to help the smaller stores stay in business but my recent experience at Game stop has turned me off. Between my 3 brothers and I we both intended on buying both Spider man and NBA 2K19. I pre ordered two copies whoever it was that helped me thought I wanted a digital copy which doesn't make sense because Gamestop is still there for the people who want physical copies anyways when I went to pick up my two copies a different associate was helping me and he couldn't help me switch my pre order from Digital to Physical because otherwise I would loose the Pre- Order DLC content which is why I pre ordered in the first place. I decided I would bite the bullet and take the two digital copies. After hours of game play I realized that the bonus content was not there. I stopped in and spoke to the manager who now was the third associate I have spoken with. She said that there are no bonus content for a digital copy and showed no effort to resolve the issue or at least give a gesture showing that they are sorry and care about the inconvenience. So in summary my brother and myself are now stuck with Digital copies without bonus content that we have never asked for and nothing to show for the inconvenience. I do not understand why a company that specializes in tangible products (reason why they are still in business) would pre-order a digital copy after all ready explaining to me all the cool bonus content. I have worked in Customer Service for 8 years. I can tell you that this situation was handled poorly. I truly hate to be "that guy" but something needs to be said about this poor experience. I understand policies are difficult to maneuver around but at the end of the day Gamestop needs to take ownership of...
Read moreBOTH employees ignorance wasted my time and really pissed me off on CHRISTMAS EVE of all days. I called them Dec 24th 2017 to ask what the price would be for a used Xbox One to see about getting one for my daughter, I was told $109 for a used Xbox One with the 500GB drive and was told that they had them in stock. I thought that seemed a little to good to be true but was excited to hear that price because that meant I would be able to afford getting my daughter one for Christmas. I checked the website just to double check the price and saw that the cheapest used Xbox One was around $170, so I called the store again to verify the price, this time a different employee answered, I asked the same question and was again told $109 for a used Xbox One. So I quickly went over to the store. Upon checking out the price came up as $209! I asked what was going one since they both had told me $109 on the phone, the excuse I was given was that this model was the 1TB one so it cost more. So I told him to get the 500GB version for $109 like I was told on the phone. After a couple minutes he comes from the back to tell me that there were none of that size. Then the other employee looks in the computer and says "I do not even see any here for that price, where did you get $109 from?" to the first employee, to which he then answers "Oh, I guess I was looking at the Xbox 360 price back here not the Xbox One price" So thanks to those two idiots I wasted almost an hour of my time, and got my hopes up to be able to surprise my daughter, only to leave empty handed and pretty let down and pissed off. I will definitely not e recommending this establishment to anyone, maybe they should hire some competent workers since both of them were to ignorant to know what they were...
Read moreI purchased the remastered Switch version of baulders gate 1/2. As I was checking out, the store clerk asked me about 5 different upselling questions as well as if I wanted to trade in my phone for some reason. After I told them it was a work phone and I can't sell it to you, he asked if I still wanted a trade in quote? Anyways, I left the store with my game and when I got home and took it out of the bag, I noticed it was sealed in a weird loose plastic package.and had a label scratched off of it. Turns out, they sold me the open boxed display copy as if it was brand new. I felt really sketched out and drove back to return it. Upon returning, I told the clerk what happens and he's like "oh yeah that's our standard practice. If that's the only or last copy we open it up and use the box on the floor". I told him that many other retailers do the same however they mark it as open box and discount the item. I don't go to best buy and purchase the floor model at the same price as new. They were not willing to negotiate so I told him to return it. He asked for my name, phone, address and I was like why? He's like I'm not sure but I have to get it. All retailers ask for this information for returns. I said, no if I'm returning a sealed item with the receipt, no one asked for these details, you must be referring to trade ins and selling used electronics. I got my money back and just won't be returning. ...
