I would normally give a one-star review for something like this, however, since this establishment has just opened in this area I felt that it would be unkind to completely tank their reviews over this. Next time will be a different story.
I have given multiple Firehouse Subs plenty of opportunities to correct this, but it seems to be a nationwide issue and not a chain-specific one. The Italian sandwich is inherently built incorrectly.
Further explanation, the essence of an Italian sandwich is to be raw & slightly spicy due to the pepperoni mixing with the salami, but instead, F.S. uses alternative meats & seasoning which create a sweet & BBQ style flavoring to their meats.
The most apparent flavor that is dominant is honey, which is an incorrect flavor to be had in this style of sandwich. There is no true Italian sandwich to be had at this establishment and should be labeled differently to no lie to the audience they are serving.
As for the establishment & staff, this chain was very polite, clean, and friendly. As new customers would walk into the store, they would be greeted and instructed to approach the correct side of the store. When customers left, they were given a nice farewell and their tables were to be cleaned almost instantly by staffing.
I am highly impressed with how this establishment is, but the shortcoming is the incorrect taste of the Italian sandwich, a staple meal in the United States. Until the taste or name has been adjusted to appropriately label this sandwich the review shall remain.
Thank you for your time, and I hope that you continue doing good to our community!
Updated I have since attempted this establishment again and this time was met with another dissatisfactory review. It now appears that the sandwiches are a made even more than when they launched the chain under a month ago. It took a lot longer with less people in the restaurant, while being still considered average (pre-Covid) staffing. Which is already unacceptable. The sandwiches came out extremely soggy after not being called for about 10 minutes of my food waiting.
This is a disaster now. Hopefully they can better train their staff & fix that disgusting Italian sandwich. Such blasphemy to make it with nasty honey ham. Not to mention, the place is overpriced, it’s almost worst than buying a large sandwich from Jimmy Johns. A bad tasting sandwich shouldn’t...

This was my absolute favorite sub shop until they SERIOUSLY mistreated me yesterday. They overcharged me by $1.50, which has happened before, so I took my receipt in for a refund shortly afterward.
The woman who initially took my order was reluctant to help me and quickly disappeared into the side room. The employee who made the subs then came out from the side room. With a very nasty attitude, he asked me what the problem was. I told him nicely, and he actually pretended he didn't understand why I had an issue. Then he grabbed my receipt, looked at it with disgust, crumpled it up and threw it in the trash. He angrily opened the till, refunded me $1.50, then stormed away. I told him that this was NOT my fault and it is no way to treat a customer. I asked for his name, but he walked away into the side room without answering me. The woman employee also refused to tell me his name, so I asked to speak with the manager.
The manager slowly sauntered out from the side room and I told him what happened. Then I asked him for the nasty employee's name. His response was that he didn't know his own employee's name! I replied, "Don't you lie to me!" I told him they are losing two good customers over $1.50 overcharge that was their fault. I demanded to have my crumpled receipt back, which he removed from the trash and handed to me, soggy and wet. Then I asked for HIS name and he replied that he didn't know his own name either, because he has AMNESIA and can't remember it. Again I said, "Don't you lie to me!" I told him that I would be contacting their corporate office to let them know how badly I had been treated. He just walked away into the side room and refused to come out again.
All three employees left me standing alone at the counter, while they hid in the side room until I left. The manager seemed to actually ENJOY and take tremendous satisfaction from abusing me. The entire experience was absolutely...
Read moreFirst time at a Firehouse subs tonight... We were rather impressed! It was very clean. Nice spacious dining area. The employees were very polite and had good customer service skills. Brisket sandwiches were delicious! Tender and juicy. Not soggy like it's just been sitting in warm, watered-down beef broth for hours. Meat ball sub had the perfect amount of sauce and wasn't a massive horror scene when my son was done eating it. The wheat bread had a good texture and wasnt too sugary. It tasted like it had some quality to it rather than just a darker version of white bread. The Mac & cheese had a consistent temperature and creamy consistency all the way through. The noodles had structure and texture. It didn't taste overcooked or like it had been shipped to them frozen to toss in the microwave upon order. The only draw back (for me) is their soda machine. It's one of those where everything comes out of one spigot and you can add custom flavoring to your drinks. Most people probably love them, but I'm allergic to cherry so I can't use them. However, they also had some bottled drinks in a cooler behind the cashier, so I was able to have one of those. The cooler selection was small, but diverse. I liked the decor theme (and their cause) and love the minimalistic approach. We enjoyed our dinner and will be back to...
