I've been in the restaurant service industry for over 10 years. I have the greatest respect, patience, and sympathy for the workers in the industry including the staff at our local papa Murphy's. It is very rare I post negative reviews on restaurants as they are usually resolved to improve the efficiency, health standards, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, as a repeat and valued customer I am currently very disappointed in the product quality, customer service, and the disrespect from the Mangement. This franchise will provide a time frame for when upper management can be notifed of the management as well as Humboldt county board of health. I ordered a take and bake pizza only to find several long hairs on the pizza. Ghis happened twice as the firstbtike they made my vegan oizza it had chedee and hair. The remake was vegan but had hair beneath the plastic wrap. It is guaranteed to come form the prep of the pizza. I called to notify employees of the mistake and they had told me to not bring it back and discard the food. The following day I spoke with magement. They apologized for the inconvenience and remade the food. However, there was strong hesitation from management to credit the newly made food because they wanted the old pizza woth recipt. The recipt was thrown away buy staff. Manager told me they were a new employew. Which i was told to throw away by lower mangemnt. the contaminated pizzas were a violation of Humboldt county health code no hats/ hair nets and cross contamination of veggies and meat. I did not intend to get free food rather adrees my concern to the health of my self and the citizens of arcta. It is very unacceptable for a franchise such as papa Murphys that does not adhere to basic health code, proper manners, and acceptance of fault on the franchise for serving contaminated food. Will not order from this location in fear of cross contamination or food borne illness. Especially when pizzas are cross contaminated for all you vegans, celiac, and lactose intolerance people. The most disrespectful aspect was the behavior of the management. Dismissive, rude, and disrespectful. First saying they would credit the food then denying to honor that that credit. All the purchased food was discarded out of health concerns and management won't accept fault or even credit or refund my purchase. I don't intend to cause trouble to management or staff but wanted to share my extremely poor experience that justifies me never visiting this chain again. I intend to report this incident to the Humboldt county board of health to investigate the cleanliness, general hygine of worker, Sanitation practices. The annoying part is they are knowingly doing it and think we won't notice. They have changed their cheese to some weird concoction that is chewy instead of soft and delicate, and this is caused by substituting pure mozzarella for a cheap blend. It used to happen occasionally, and now always, I am starting to doubt if it is even a dairy product anymore. The last couple of months the dough has also changed to its determent. They are selling dough that has already risen and collapsed. This is caused by using old or stale dough that has been out too long. I have been buying from Papa Murphys for at least the last 15 years, between living in Idaho and now California and, it has always been a family favorite.
