Arlington Bakery & Méli Marketplace — Restaurant in Arlington

Very pastry/cookie forward shop, with a variety of Greek non perishables, and oddly/charmingly, I think there was a board out front advertising fresh soup today.

Got 2 large, foil wrapped petit fours ($2/ea) and a big chocolate chip cookie ($3). They were all fine examples, though their take on petit fours was a little different than other examples I've had. Not bad at all, just a different spin (I may be too picky about chocolate). I am not ethnically Greek. Next time I will lean in on specialty Greek pastries rather than 'standard bakery' fare.

Staff was friendly and made good suggestions, 5$ minimum for card purchase, Square branded touch screen kiosk made the purchase simple (only mentioned to call out that this place is not cash only). Don't think they have hot beverages, Barismo is just 4 doors down the street, a good option if you want to support a local coffee roaster. And of course the amazing Fox Library is right next door if you hope to feed your brain/heart.

Old school local Greek bakery, big selection, well displayed in lovely glass cases, no complaints, glad to have them in the East Arlington neighborhood and keeping traditions alive/available, will...

I love this bakery! Admittedly, I only have a couple of staples I get from here (so can't speak to the taste or quality of everything), but what I get I love. This bakery is one of the only ones here in the Boston area that reminds me of the bakeries of my childhood growing up in Brooklyn. They make fresh baked Italian bread that you can buy by the loaf, that is fresher and better than anything I can find anywhere else. I was buying it weekly but my budget got tight for awhile and I minimized my purchases, but now that I am in a better place financially, I've begun buying them weekly again. They also have some pastries I love, including an almond cake with cream and another creamy sponge cake with strawberry filling. Again, reminds me of home. It's sweet without that kind of sweet confection taste that hurts your teeth, that most other bakeries seem to sell nowadays...I feel fortunate they are only 2 blocks from me. It gives me a real neighborhood experiences to get my weekly bread and...

Lika and the Arlington Bakery are the best! Thank you so much for creating the best birthday cakes ever. We had a monster party for a milestone birthday, and Lika created a cake that our family and friends were raving about. In many happy occasions that we've had before, I had never experienced all the compliments we had for this cake. Everyone wanted to know where we got it, and I was so happy to say, Arlington Bakery so many times. Some said the cake texture was so "home made" and the best ever; others said the raspberry filling was the best that they'd ever had; while others said the butter cream frosting was the perfect sweetness. Wow! What made this even more special was that I had not fully explained what was needed for the occasion, and Lika was able on extremely short notice, to make sure everything was perfect! It really was. Thanks so much, Lika! We will definitely be back, and so will family members...
