I was visiting DC for work and I was looking for some great Pakistani food (there is none where I live) and I got recommended this place by more than one person. Just outside all of the hustle and bustle in DC there is city kabob, and it was delicious! I ordered the mix grill platter, chicken biryani, the house special chickpeas and a butter chicken.

The lamb kabob in the mix grill was so full of flavor, the bone in chicken that accompanied the lamb was falling off the bone and full of flavor. The rice and chickpeas were the perfect complement to the protein heavy dish. Then to top it off- the naan. I’m not sure if they have a family recipe of naan but it blew me away- (you have to get the cilantro naan).

I loved the tea at the end- it was the perfect way to digest such a huge meal.

One thing I really enjoyed was the service- the gentleman up front taking my order took me on a trip to flavor town; and recommended everything mentioned above. This place truly is a gem- I am currently salivating at the thought of coming back- I think my job needs to send me to...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely phenomenal!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this kabob place truly deserves the praise. From the moment I walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. The aroma of sizzling spices filled the air and instantly made me hungry.

I ordered the sizzling feast for 2 which was a mix Kabob of chicken and beef seekh , and every single bite was perfection. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the lamb was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the beef kabobs had just the right amount of char. Even the rice was fragrant and fluffy — not just a side, but a star on its own. The fresh salad and garlic sauce tied the whole meal together beautifully.

Portions were generous, prices were more than fair, and the food came out quickly and hot. You can really tell they care about quality and consistency. I’ll definitely be coming back — and bringing friends!. Jay also told me that the have a lunch buffet weekdays 11am to 5pm and weekends 12pm to 10pm

If you're craving delicious, authentic kabobs, this spot...

I showed up on a Tuesday night and was the only guest for the 40 minutes while I ordered and dined. The service was fine, as the guy behind the counter took my order and also served as my waiter.

He was attentive during the meal checking on me, as needed. My wait was certainly reasonable for the order: Lamb Korma with rice and garlic naan. Now, I was stationed in England for four years, so I feel as though I know a thing or two about Indian food. I can tell you that the Lamb Korma was delicious even though it wasn't made with more of a coconut sauce but instead with almonds. What did surprise was the heat, even having asked for mild. The flavor was spectacular! The rice was good and fluffy. As for the naan, that was quite disappointing as it resembled frozen naan which I made one time my daughter and me. Overall 4 stars because of the service and as for the food, two out of three (as Meat Loaf...

Looking for worst tasting Indian food in DMV area - this is the place. I got food using TooGoodToGo app. I had read the recent reviews but thought of giving a try thinking how bad it can be but I gave a little too much benefit of doubt. It cost $7.69 for halal option - it came with butter chicken, chholay and rice. Chicken was chewy, rubbery and tasteless- gravy was overloaded with sugar for some reason and did not resemble butter chicken from anywhere. Chickpeas tasted boiled with minimum flavor but I could eat that when I am really sick and just want a patient diet. Rice was good. Anyone reading this review - you sir/ mam are really good cook. Just save yourself a trip and cook at home or heat up a store bought frozen butter chicken pack. Staff was super nice and greeted well though.

I’ve been coming to City Kabob for several years, and it used to be one of my go-to spots. Unfortunately, the quality has declined, especially after the management changed several times. I usually go for their buffet — while it’s often a bit too oily, the taste has generally been good. However, in my last three visits, I noticed they’ve replaced their fresh bread with pre-baked grocery store bread, microwaved and served to customers, which is quite disappointing. Cleanliness is another concern. The floor and tables are often sticky, and it makes me wonder about the hygiene in the kitchen. I truly hope they can bring back the quality and care they once had, because this place used to be a gem in Arlington.

Went for the $13.95 lunch buffet on a Friday afternoon with my boyfriend. We both enjoyed everything offered, especially the tandoori chicken which was super moist, the naan, and the assortment of veggies, and chana masala. The butter chicken had tasty sauce but the chicken breast pieces could sometimes be a bit dry. The ground beef dish didn't have a ton of flavor or spice, but was ok. Just wish there was a dessert or chai option included! But would definitely return.
