What can I say, I don't write to many reviews, but this time I have too, I'm sad and mad at the same time. I will start, the place has no A/C, they have fans in the floor blowing all that dust and filthy from the floor to the tables and into your food, bathrooms dirty with no paper to dry your hands and the hand soap was from the dollar store, but they mixed with more water than soap, strike 1. I really was looking to taste the food here because of the reviews. I will tell you, the portions are a joke, look the picture and look my hand, looks like a kid meal, almost get up and walk away but my wife stop me strike 2, I don't mind the portions if the food is really good, but this was not the case, it wasn't that tasty, I had to ask for some 'mojito' for the Mofongo to give it more taste, it was almost the same, no taste strike 3, oh, they will charge you $4 for the mojito, really! but you don't know that until the end, when you have to pay, which they don't give you a ticket, you have to go to the cash register and without a ticket they charge you, and then is when you see the extra charges, they do it in purpose (pillos) they even try to charge me for the ice, because I ask for two cups of ice, the drink Malta, was old with no soda on it. Like the puertorricans say, debut y despedida, no real puertorrican food there, is sad that as puertorrican I have to say this, but the Cuban restaurant next to this place have better service better portions, the taste of food is way better and really good service .
Read moreThe food wasn't bad but it wasn't good. I had tried it a few years back cause I was excited to try Puerto Rican food. The pernil was dry and flavorless as was the mofongo. The main thing I came for. Lucky I ordered empanadillas de carne which were a little better but again lacked flavor. I went again yesterday and ordered the empanadillas once again. First off let me just say this place takes Covid really seriously even at this point of the pandemic. When I arrived I couldn't even open the door although I saw people eating inside. I knew they were open because I had just called to order. Then I saw a girl run up to the door. I was so confused. Lol Then she proceeds to check my temperature at the door. I have gone to MANY restaurants and this is the first time they check my temp at a restaurant. The tables were spaced out as well. I went up to the cashier and she scans my card. She had one of those payment systems where we are asked to leave a tip. Since I was picking up my order I normally don't leave a tip but since she had a huge protection screen in front of the register she had to push the option for me and it made me feel super pressured to leave a tip. I didn't like that at all. Anyways after trying the empanadillas I decided to find somewhere else to find my Puerto Rican fix cause neither the chicken or the carne molida had flavor. They give you a sauce that taste like raisin canes sauce. Not sure if that's traditional. After reading the reviews I noticed I wasn't the only one who noticed the lack of flavor...
