I never had any issues staying at this hotel in even in recent times with family members. However this last booking was not what I expected. Having worked here previously while in school, I always recommend this hotel location but I was super disappointed with the stay I recently had. After a day of being in the area and house shopping my boyfriend and I stopped in late to get a room to sleep in for the night. Things went well for a while until about the middle of the night. We got in late and there seemed to be a lot of commotion in the pool area, the room we had was on the third floor right over the pool so there was a lot of noise coming from there. Our joined room neighbors were up and pretty loud themselves so we ate dinner and watched tv. After drifting away, we were woken up by the security guard at 3am regarding a noise complaint. And asked that we also turned the tv down. Apparently our neighbors were finally ready to sleep themselves so after a night of being loud in their room they decided we should in turn silence our tv because they were finally ready to go to bed. Mind you, they had been loud the entire time (we should've just complained before them then we all could've been sleep). When I went to go use the bathroom the toilet did not flush.... like at all. No water nothing. Irritated by our neighbors and the security guard and now this I told my boyfriend I'll just call down and have us switch rooms and we can get peace elsewhere. Well after calling a few times there was no answer. I figured I'd call from my cell since he maybe saw the room number and chose to ignore it. But no answer. Since it was late my boyfriend and I just decided we'd deal with it in the morning as we were super tired visiting the area. In the morning we expressed our concerns to the front desk lady and all she did was cut us off and then explain that there were no notes from the auditor regarding us complaining about the toilet. In which I responded again why would there be if he chose to NOT answer the phone. She explained how they had been dealing with issues on the 5th floor and kicking out guests but that had nothing to do with our stay?.... after a few more exchanges on what was going on we were pretty much rushed out and told we would hear from the manager. All of which is fine, but here is my thing. As someone who literally worked at this location Ian typically never stood for anything mediocre and less than perfect. At 19 if I was able to figure it out and have a customer service go get it attitude then so should every employee whether we like our jobs or not. A month ago I stayed with my mom and dad while I was in town and I was happy to see Rob still there and we didn't have any issues or complaints. A while before we had family come into town and stay here per my recommendation and no issues. Just super disappointed with the lack of attentiveness and...
Read moreI was supposed to stay at La Quinta South Arlington while in town for the Cottom Bowl on New Yearâs Eve. When I arrived and checked in (2 hours after the rooms was supposed to be ready), the room had obviously not been cleaned. I went down to the desk to report this, the staff member immediately issued a new room and that was great.
This second room âappearedâ to be clean at first glance, but upon further inspection it was obvious that though the bed was made, the sheets had not been washed from the previous occupantsâ there were many hairs and other indistinguishable things when we peeled back the covers. There were also bugs laying on the desk and by the AC, and the countertops needed cleaning. The bedside lights also did not work. After this I was not comfortable in being relocated in another room, because who knew if that would be truly clean or just made to look clean.
It was also discouraging to see trash scattered in the hallways and curse words etched into the elevator doors, and people Smoking immediately outside the front door. (Which may be allowed but was not great first impression).
We visited the desk again to let staff know and asked if our reservation could be transferred to a different Wyndham hotel but the only answer we received was that it âlooks likeâ there may be a bed at La Quinta in north Arlington.
After this we were forced to cancel and find a different hotel. The lady at the desk was nice and she apologized, and I know this was not her fault about the state of the rooms.
But the lack of preparation and successful attempts to rectify the issues resulted in us having to spend more money on a new hotel and miss our evening dinner reservations while we tried to find a new place for New Years Weekend.
I know these are difficult times and that so many places are short-handed, but if rooms cannot be appropriately ready guests should be alerted in advance or the rooms should not be bookable in the first place.
I had a friend staying in the hotel for the game and they said that they first room they were given was already occupied when they first arrived. Then, in their second room, they had two different sets of people attempt to enter their room who said they had been told by the front desk that was their room.
At the new hotel I stayed in, I saw a lady who had checked into La Quinta when I did, and she told me they also had an issue with being given someone elseâs Room before they cancelled and left.
Maybe this is isolated to a very bad weekend, but I would not feel confident staying here after...
Read moreI donât know where to even start! Iâll start with the pros since it wonât take long to type. PROS: LOCATION they are located near mall/restaurants about 13 minutes from epic water etc.
With that being said TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!!!
CONS: Upon arriving, check-in was ok up until they start asking for full names of everyone staying in the room not sure why. We booked two rooms and requested to be on the same floor and/or close together due to my father being disabled. Great! They did just that. We were giving rooms 119 & 115. OMG! I am not exaggerating the rooms smelled HORRIBLE! Whoever left a review saying they smelled so good psssh! Yeah Right! Floors were wet. Smelled like dirty diapers etc. Room 115 was a double full size bed. Only had 2 towels. BE READY! Take you some extra towels. Bc when they run out they will give you Pool towels. And pool towels werenât even available at the pool. Bring your pool towels!
Outlets to charge SUCK! They sticking out the walls! I couldnât find any that worked. Luckily room 119 had a table that had three outlets to charge.
A/c was fine thank God!
Fridge was dirty!
Shower bathtub was dirty, towels were stained! Shower pressure comes out so strong you canât even stand under it for so long.
There is no Hot breakfast. Grab and go kinda breakfast.
Pool was dirty. Literally guests were cleaning the pool to be able to Swim.
Dusty dusty rooms!
We requested additional towels and trash bags the next morning and no room service. A lady with a nose ring said âIâm goodâ so when she says that it means it wonât get done.
Fast forward, we came back from the waterpark to find no cleans towels no trash bags. Apparently the lady in front of us complained about the same thing. Go figure.
Be ready to wait and wait in line at the front desk as they only have one employee per shift.
I have two kids under 2 and it was exhausting having to watch them every minute bc the floors were dirty the outlets were not in place. The doors oh goodness the doors! My two year old can open the doors if wasnât for the latch on top.
This place is not kid friendly! I should have known better because letâs face it! Itâs La Quinta! And the fact that it says & Suites means absolutely nothing. It may look eye appealing upon arrival but you will soon discover this place is trash.
This place is over priced for the poor quality it has.
I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE! EVER! Donât read the comments that are 4 months ago.
BEWARE!...
