Sit down, this isn't going to be a fun read at all.
We live in Allen and booked a room to stay while visiting with some friends so we wouldn't have a 45 mile late night drive.
Expedia got us the room for $105ish. The exact amount escapes me.
In the afternoon, around 3 the day of my reservation, I received a call from someone at the hotel demanding to know if I was "really showing up" for the room we booked. I stated of course we were and the man repeated his demand to know exactly when we would be showing up. I gave him our closest approximation, around 530-6 depending on traffic. That was met with a third reiterated question of "So, you do plan on checking in?" Yep, I said.
Hung up, told the fiance how strange that was.
So we drive there and check in. The clerk, I didn't catch his name either, was the only positive experience in the forthcoming events. He was nice, professional and fast.
So we head to our room to once over it. Oh boy, what a mess.
The mini fridge was actively leaking water all over the floor and had been for some time judging by the copious water damage to the entertainment center.
The tub had lovely cigarette burns on it. The ac wasn't on, so the place was Texas hot.
And my fiance checked the drawer of one side of the bed's nightstand and was greeted by an equally alarmed cockroach. Yeah. Roaches.
So we head down and explain it all, with pictures, also attached for your viewing pleasure. I couldn't get a shot of the bug, he was both shy and quick.
The clerk moves us to another room. and I may at this point just sound whiny but we are paying for this so here we go:
The bathroom paint is all jacked up, patches here and there that don't even match. The hairdryer is gone with only a metal mounting plate in its' wake. The door handle to the bathroom was hanging on by a thread and barely opened the door, which by the way, stuck when closed leaving one to wonder at what point I to be trapped in a Motel 6 bathroom for the remainder of my stay. Which would be okay with an ample water supply allowing me to survive, but the attached pic will show the full force of the faucet, which I can best describe as 'barely flowing at all and probably doing so only because gravity demanded the slight stream of water to fall to Earth."
We checked pricing, the very room we were in was now going for $79 instead of the $30 or so more we paid.
All in all, just an awful, terrible...
Read moreHorrible is the best adjective!! Our stay at the Motel 6 at 4024 Melear St Arlington Tx. This room was booked under my husband's name and I checked us out on Nov 7, 2023. First off, the staff needs more training in English, we could barely communicate the entire time and they made no effort to try and assist us. The staff also needs training with customer service, they made us feel like we were bugging them the entire time, even just asking for more towels. The room itself was not that clean, the handles and hardware (for sinks and bathtub) looked so disgusting we didn't want to touch them. So the day we checked out, we needed to book another night and we didn't have all the money. I told them our situation (we were about to be homeless) and I was trying to get the other half of the money to book. At first, the guy told me they could give me like an extra hour or two but not longer than that. So by 12:15,. I was told by the manager (a woman who drives a blue Tesla) and that was fine, I knew I only had a little time. So me and my children start to load up the U haul truck we were in, the door to the truck was up and we had to room door propped open (clearly moving out) when all of a sudden the same guy who said they could give us a little more time, comes to the room cursing me out, in front of my children. He was so aggressive and very angry and it got ugly. He was so aggressive and angry I called the Arlington Police dept to have them come and be there while me and the kids moved out of the room. I was scared, I was shaking and crying and I could not believe this was a place of business. No one should be treated like that for any reason from a business/staff. I wanted to send this info to you all, this incident took place on Nov 7, 2023 around 12:30-1:00 pm. The 2 officers stayed there until we were completely done and left. We have stayed in other locations of Motel 6 ( Lancaster, Red Oak and Duncanville) all were very nice and we were treated nice but this location on Melear is HORRIBLE. Needless to say we will never ever go there again, no matter how...
Read moreWe booked and stayed at this motel, the staff has no idea about customer service whatsoever, including management. They are rude and roll their eyes as if you're getting on their nerves for being there just asking for towels. So, we ran into a money pinch on the day of check out and management told me they could give me an hour or so to rebook. Check out is at 11, by 12:15 I was told I had to go ahead and leave. My children and myself were packing up, we were in a huge U-Haul truck with the door up and the room door propped open, clearly moving our stuff out when all of a sudden, the same guy who said " we can give you an hour or so" comes to the room and CURSED ME OUT in front of my kids and was very aggressive telling us to get out!! At first I was remaining calm but he kept going and going cursing and being aggressive. I was crying and shaking while damn near throwing our stuff on the truck. I felt so threatened I called the Arlington Police dept to come and be there so we could leave safe and unharmed. My husband was at work during this ordeal. I felt like he did that because I was a woman and only had my kids with me. I could not believe this was a place of business literally bullying me. He demanded I go talk to the manager which I think was his wife. I walk to the office and asked her to step outside and speak to me without him being there, she sat on the couch scrolling on her phone, wouldn't even look at me and also yelled at me "do you have $25, you need to pay the late fee"!! I have never in my life been treated like this at ANY business. This is the WORST experience and I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend money here. We had been in this room for almost a week and spent around $700 here, TOTAL...
