My mom and I went here and ordered to go. When we walked in we weren't greated or anything, and was we looked at the menu on the wall, I noticed nothing had a description, which is fine for things like teriyaki chicken, but what's in the caterpillar roll? I finally realized there was a smaller menu on the counter that described half the rolls. Another person walked up and told him he could go ahead we were still looking, turned out he worked there, but he asked the guy behind the counter what I said, not me, and the guy behind the counter didn't say anything to me, just shrugged. I don't think he said 5 words to me the entire time we were there. Even then it was only when we were ordering. We sat down and waited for our food, and the second kid I mentioned who also worked there kept going to the back of house to a booth with, I'm assuming, his girlfriend. Not very good business practice/customer service that one employee doesn't talk to people, and the other I just goofing off with his girlfriend. We finally got our food, went back to my mom's around the corner, and the food was very mediocre. The sesame chicken we got was very bland, and didn't come with nearly enough rice. The rolls were small, and one of them was not at all how described on the paper on the counter. It had pineapple in it, which makes me sick, so I couldn't even try that one. When I got home that night, instead of sleeping peacefully I was on and off the toilet because of the horrible food poisoning! It was so awful, I texted my mom at first light and she was in the same boat. Needless to say, I don't care if this place is right around the corner, we will...
Read moreFinally tried this place after seeing this for years back when I went to UTA. Parking is a little inconvenient because you can only get in through a one way and there aren’t alternative entrances. The outside is a little run down and the inside isn’t all too flattering. Despite the menu being somewhat basic, the food itself isn’t too bad. It’s not amazing or the best Japanese food, but it’s good food for a decent price.
The beef udon was delicious, noodles soft and thick, it wasn’t too saucy. I added soy sauce and spices to take the flavor up a notch.
The Japanese chicken katsu with curry tasted great. I enjoyed the flavor.
The mango green tea was good. It comes pretty sweet so I asked to do 50% sugar and it was still sweet. I think I could have lowered it to 25%.
Whenever you get water (you have to ask), get it with ice. Water by itself without ice comes lukewarm.

Read moreThis place makes the supreme Japanese food in the DFW metroplex. The area may be a little inconvenient to non-students, but is a hub for UTA students, offering free wifi and inexpensive, yet good quality meals. The food could only be described as superb. The rice and noodles they make never end up too greasy, however are still wholly delicious. Their teas are quite delicious, but I advise you to be cautious if you're lactose intolerant and ordering a milk tea, as they happen to be quite milk-dense. They have an exciting selection of pastries displayed as well, which i definitely recommend. The service is great, with employees ready and cheerful 24/7. The only setback would be the amount of time it takes them to cook some things, but is counteracted by every positive aspect about this place. Please do...
