King Buffet — Restaurant in Arlington

Hubby and I visited last Monday evening at about 6.30pm. The restaurant was busy, even though it was a Monday, but we were seated immediately. The staff were polite and attentive without being intrusive, so we were never left waiting for drink refills or plates to be cleared. Hubby and I are ketovore/carnivore people, so it's sometimes tricky to find much for us when we're eating out. However, the restaurant has a wide range of food so there's something for everyone. No one - from vegans right through to us carnivores - needs to leave hungry. (The only downside is that they probably still use vegetable and/or seed oil to cook with. With luck that will change soon as word spreads about the health risks.) Anyway... The Mongolian Grill chef could have cooked us nice big platefuls of the various meats and some egg (there are lots of veggies available too) but we decided to stick with the ready-to-eat buffet instead. I had some boiled eggs first, followed by a couple of the chicken lumps on sticks. Both good. However, my favorite hot food dish - by far -was the beef. I'm sorry I didn't pay attention to the official name of that dish, but it was kind of a beef 'hot pot', with large chunks of beef swimming in beefy gravy with a few pieces of onion and carrot that were easy to avoid. This restaurant is run by some unprofessional employees. My wife and I dined there today at 2:10 pm. At 2:40 pm, the waitress brought us a bill, despite us just starting our meal. When I questioned her, she didn't respond and walked away. She returned every 30 minutes with the bill, pressuring us to leave, which made us frustrated.

She continued to come to our table every 20-30 minutes, asking if we were done. Each time, when I requested drink refills, her attitude was rude and derogatory. It's impossible to enjoy a buffet with such constant interruptions and pressure.

Eventually, she asked again if we were done. I asked if there was a time limit for the buffet, and she claimed it was one hour. This was news to me, so I asked another employee, who said there was no time limit. I explained our experience, and she said she would inform the manager.

When I spoke to the manager, he was biased and unprofessional. He said the waitress gave us the bill but didn't kick us out. I asked why she kept checking on us every 20-30 minutes, and I also asked if there was a time limit for the buffet. He vaguely mentioned that customers usually take two hours but didn't provide a clear answer.

The waitress name was written as Jenney on our receipt. And I don’t know name of the manager.

I took my four children and my four grandchildren to dinner tonight. We begin to eat and noticed that our table is filling up with plates. Everyone around us tables are getting cleared regularly. I had to stop someone and ask could they clear our table. This person cleared half the table and disappeared and never to be seen again. I never knew who my waitress was. I said OK maybe I’m , so I get up and I start to look around the room at other peoples tables everybody’s table is clear except ours. so I begin to record the whole restaurant and I noticed another black family with about 10 people. their table was full of plates as well, as if their table was not being cleared in a timely manner. BUT, the Mexicans, the white people, oh the Chinese people table was getting cleared the fastest! the food was good but I will not be returning. I Voiced my concern to the cashier and she said maybe he was just busy. I said no he wasn’t busy because every other table around us was getting cleared. I even asked For our table to be cleared and it was half done. I wanted this to be a good experience and memory for my family, but it wasn’t. I have pics and videos.
