I would give a 3.5 but not deserving of a 3.
This place was okay, the best thing about it was the customer service. Nothing bad that is noteworthy happened but overall mediocre & not wowed.
Came here for lunchtime & it was busy but the girl at the register was quick to take our orders, efficient & helpful.
Two meat platter with brisket, sausage, mac n' cheese, & green beans - this was okay, again it just didn't wow us. The seasoning wasn't too bad, I was happy that it wasn't salty.
Baked potatoes - this comes with chopped brisket. All the things you'd expect in a potato & BBQ on top. The BBQ was good, it wasn't overly tangy/sweet but just right!
Pros: Generous portions, drinks are self serve (it's nice not having to flag someone down), service is great (they bring your food to you) with very kind staff, decent time for your food to come out
Cons: Our table (you seat yourself) was still a bit greasy along with the seats, this was after we saw that the table had been cleared. Our problem the food was that it was lukewarm... not cold but I'd hope for it to be more hot coming out. Seasoning for meat was average, but pretty greasy as well.
Maybe we'll try the seafood dishes next time. Hoping it was an off day for them as I have seen more positive reviews than negative. Again, superb...
Read moreThe atmosphere and service were both great. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. They have TVâs and offer adult beverages which was nice, and have plenty of seating. For food we ordered ribs, brisket, brisket taco and black pepper sausage. The meat was delicious, very tender, good flavor; however the brisket and brisket taco were very oily. They give good portions, the price point is awesome and the BBQ sauce is delicious. They also have Frankâs hot sauce which is a plus!! The greens were good! The Mac and cheese was basic, not baked like weâre used to. The baked beans had potential but was âchiliâ flavored and forward vs traditional sweet baked beans; hold the cumin and chili powder. The okra was decent, could have been fried a little longer. Last but certainly not least, the BIGGEST issue that I have with TX is a lot of restaurants advertise âcatfishâ and serve âswaiâ which is very misleading and unacceptable. If I pay and ask for (and you âofferâ) catfish thatâs what I want and thatâs what I should get⌠Iâd respect restaurants more if they put Swai on their menus, Iâm sure people would still order it, I mean I wouldnât but hey⌠Overall...
Read moreI went with two of my friends and we could not have asked for better service. They were attentive, welcoming and generous. They made us feel like family. TJ and MJay came out and introduced themselves to us. We arrived near closing the ribs were sold out and only one potato left but they had a large menu to choose from. We sampled A LOT of food - the catfish, hush puppies, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, brisket baked potato, loaded corn bread, Texas twisters and the daiquiris. There wasnât a single item as order that I wouldnât order again. The loaded corn bread was devoured - make sure to use the perfect Amount of BBQ sauce. The coleslaw was creamy and flavorful. The catfish was flakey and moist. The Mac and cheese had the perfect amount of garlic to add flavor but not overpower the dish. The Texas twisters and the loaded potato were massive portions! The daiquiris were potent and had me feeling a little tipsy after one cup. Collectively we do wish the food was hotter when it was served, regardless I will back! Thank you for a...
