Edit: They have changed management and made hugely disappointing changes to the menu. They have raised prices, deleted the a la carte & senior menu options, deleted many solid dishes from the menu (no more tamales, deleted several nacho options, no more queso fundido, no more green enchilada sauce, etc) . You no longer get tortillas offered to you, they even removed the sweet & low/sugar holder. I said I practically live here in my initial review, but after all the changes - neither I or my son will eat there again. Used to be a frequent customer, spending $35-60 at a time. They have lost lots of customers and apparently do not care. By the way - to the new management: the chicken tortilla soup is full of vegetables that are so over cooked, they are mush. Very little to no chicken. You want to make a change - start there. Now your food rating is lowered and service too. 11-2-24

I practically live here. Solid food, but not amazing. More traditional Mexican, as opposed to Tex-Mex. Salsa is served hot and it is my absolute favorite! Don't waste your time on the queso - it's cheese out of a can & virtually flavorless. Chips are good.

I highly recommend the Superita. Not going to lie - they will occasionally serve you a rita with no liquor - send it back and tell them it has none. They will fix it. When they do ritas well, they REALLY do them well! 2 good ones and you will need a driver. Or maybe it's me!

Dishes I recommend: Carnitas. Not shredded pork, it's cubed, but it is soooo tender & tasty! You should definitely try this dish! Enchiladas - I have tried them all. I really like their sour cream sauce & Verde. I usually get chicken, but both beef & cheese are good. Flautas. Good and not super greasy. Tacos. I usually get crispy beef. They fill the shells to the top and you won't have room for the lettuce & cheese! A good deal for sure! Quesadillas. Huge and good! Fajita fundito. Rich & tasty. My son prefers his with fajita steak.

I really like their refried beans and the rice is tasty. The tortillas are great most of the time. If they aren't amazing, ask for fresh tortillas. Worth taking home.

I didn't care for their chicken tortilla soup. It has a good flavor, but it has large chunks of zucchini and other veggies which are so over cooked, they are mushy. I don't do mushy.

I do appreciate that I can order off the a la carte menu if I am not very hungry or want a mix of items not offered in a set dish. It's not only economical, but allows flexibility!

Its actually a huge restaurant and they have rooms that you can arrange to use if you have a...

After getting turned down at Uncle Julio with no reservation, we saw this shining peach of a restaurant across the interstate. Don't expect anything special about this place. When we walked in it smelled alot like the same industrial cleaner smell casinos use. I thought that was strange. Got seated. Some young kid comes and I ask him for some Queso. He was more than overjoyed to tell me they had no queso. I didn't think this was a good start. We should have taken this as a sign and just left. However it was getting late and we were all hungry. I've never been to ANY Mexican food place in the state of Texas in my 50 years that ran out of Queso. Congratulations, you guys are the first. Food came out reasonably quick. I ordered fajitas. Dude brings me the bean plate out first. Has to retrieve the meat. Then asks if we have everything. I'm like "where are the tortillas"? He's like oh, " you want tortillas"?? Wow...just wow. After about 5-10 minutes he waddles out with some tortillas. My son ordered Carne asada. Would have been the same plate without the tortillas with exception mine was cut up. There is another first, no tortillas offered with the fajitas. In my tortillas bin, I found crumbles of chips. Made me wonder if the kid scrounged these off someone else's returns to the kitchen after their meal. Sure tasted that way. They were old, and obviously microwaved. Yuk. Other orders to our table were a chicken chimichanga, chicken taquitos, and carne asada. I asked everyone to rate their food on 1-10. Everyone said 4-6. Very lackluster. Waiter was an idiot. Came out asking if it would all be on one ticket and I hadn't even eaten hardly any of my meal. Dude never asked us if we wanted desert. Several of us wanted a damn sopapilla. I was so erked by the experience I didn't even eat half my meal. Just paid the ticket and left the waiter a 2$ tip for his efforts at ruining ourmeals. As we left, the manager guy was thanking us and acting all proud as if they had done a good job. What a joke. We just hauled ass. I ended up eating a fast food on our 2 hour drive home. Waste of 120$ on some crappy mexican food, not much better than food from the frozen food section. To say the least we wont be back. I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat this. Just go...

I came here a few weeks ago and I used to love coming here, 20 years ago anyway. Always had great service, amazing food and sometimes they would have a mariachi band; this last time as expected, unfortunately,' the food was barely better than a drive thru like taco cabana, our waiter was terrible. The chips tasted more stale than usual and we requested at least 3 times for tortillas. That’s all we really come here for is the chips, tortillas and salsa but we ordered food too this time. The soda I ordered was carbonated and when I told the waiter the replacement he brought me was in a to go cup! He was very short with us, the nachos we both ordered looked horrendous; like the kitchen literally just threw them together. It’s too bad I can’t remember the waiter’s name. Even if you are having a bad day, when you are working, especially in the service industry, try and at least pretend you’re not miserable or just don’t come to work. I would have given this guy a really low tip if I had been paying! I’ve never been treated like that here and we wouldn’t have stayed if we were able to buy chips, tortillas and salsa to go, but I’ve been told that’s not allowed anymore which is ridiculous. We won’t be back anytime soon if that is how they now treat people coming to have a “nice” dinner! I truly loved this place growing up, now I’m amazed it’s still open and that paint job is disgusting but someone with poor eyesight must have chosen the color. Guess not it looks like what it tastes...

NOT THE SAME!!! I have been coming here for many, many years. This place is usually my go to for delicious Mexican food. Recently, I have noticed lots of changes, that I do NOT like. This place use to have a small container with butter for the fresh homemade tortillas they would bring to you. Not any more!! You have to ask for the tortillas, many people may not be aware to ask, I think they should at least offer them to you. That was one let down, so I asked after visiting twice and no tortillas. I did get my tortillas after asking and the butter comes counted, 1 per tortilla. So after asking, it's new ownership. I don't know how I feel about that. They also have a new menu ( as of a 2 months ago), prices went up of course. My chicken Enchiladas use to come with a side of guacamole, not anymore!! They even took the sugar off the tables for people who like to put sweet and low in their tea, it's gone. You now have to ask for it. Don't get me wrong, this place serves good food, most the time. It's just the changes they made, I really dont like. They do have a waitress names Marlene, she was awesome! I had to ask her name cause usually you don't get good service from waitresses anymore as much but she is really good at her job. Ask for Marlene if you decide to head on over to this place, she will make your trip worth it.

(2 years ago)Went here because everyone else had a wait of over an hour. Plus, I ALWAYS look at the reviews, and they weren't too bad. The star is for the restaurant space, it's a huge, great space. First, the chips, salsa, and water. The chips were ok, salsa was warm for some reason 🤔, and the water was not good (my friend compared it to creek water). Dinner: I got the flautas, and my friend got the enchiladas. The beef flauta had a weird taste, and it was wet on the inside, which was odd. One bite, and you're chewing forever trying to break the meat. The chicken ones were a little less wet but lacked seasoning. My friend said the same about the enchiladas. The guacamole and rice were not good either. My margarita tasted like only mix, no tequila, but for $5, hey. We just stopped eating, paid, and left. Later that night, both of our stomachs were hurting, and we're still paying for it today. $22 to keep going to the bathroom, not again! 😔 I wasn't impressed with the presentation so I did not take a picture of my plate, but prior to dumping it in the garbage disposal, here's 2 pictures of what is supposed to be chicken tortilla soup! 🤢
