I arrived at this motel October 9 for training, I was supposed to be at this Marriott for two months. They are pet friendly. It is $150 deposit just a heads up guys. They also do charge for parking but since I was there with the company they waived that for me they also charge for incidentals which is another 140$ so just a heads up on that as well. breakfast is amazing the lady and the guy who always do the breakfast honestly put a lot into what they do in the morning. I want them to know that I appreciate them. Also before I write this review, I would like all the hotel staff to know that I really appreciate them and that they are great at what they do. This review isn’t due to bad service because the staff at that Marriott go above and beyond for their guest. They put me in room 222 on the second floor when I walked into the room I noticed an odd smell. I didn’t think anything of it by the time I had gotten into bed to go to sleep because I had to be at work at 5 AM. I started itching so I turned the light on. I looked down and I had some big whelps on my thigh. I got out of the bed went to Walgreens and bought some Benadryl took the Benadryl. Woke up to work the next morning over the next few days. it started progressively getting worse and I had welts from head to toe. I go to the hospital and they told me that I’m having an allergic reaction to something in the motel so I go up to the front desk when I get back from the hospital and I tell him something is going on in that room. Can y’all move my room and of course they move Me right away I think his name is Raheem or Rakim I can’t really remember his name, wasVery very good customer service. He changes my room to 116. I go into that room and it doesn’t have the same odor that 222 Had, A couple hours goes by I’m sitting in the room and a flea jumps on me. I go to the office and let them know They might want to take care of that. I go back to my room. I’m sitting there doing schoolwork and all of a sudden my leg starts itching so I pull up my pants and I find a small little Bug, I’m gonna attach that in the review. After I find the bug the welts start swelling up again and I have to go back to the hospital this time they put me on steroids now mind you, this is two emergency room visits in less than three days apart. I go back to the motel. I go reach down to pick up one of my shirts out of my luggage and low and behold one of the same bugs I found on my leg is now in my clothing, but it’s a baby. I go to the office and I let the gentleman know at the front desk that I just can’t do it anymore. He apologized profusely, He even called his Manager and she was on speaker and they were like well. What do you wanna do? Do you wanna move to another room again and I said no way if one room has it and the other room had it then they all have it. I left the motel last night around 11 PM and I drove all the way back to Austin. That’s probably close to a 3 Hour Drive. You would think after me now going into “3000$ worth of hospital bill debt due to the fact that they didn’t do the upkeep on their pest control!!!” that they would’ve at least refunded The pet deposit are the incidental deposit since I’m the only one that got hurt in the matter or go as far as to cover the hospital bills!! again, this is not about the staff. They were great, but the bugs and fleas were out of control. The hospital bills were uncalled for due to my stay at residence Inn Arlington Dallas, South thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this review. honestly, I will never stay there again. It was the worst...
Read moreWe booked this hotel because it was near the hospital where my hubby was to have heart surgery. At first glance, it was great. There were all of the utilities needed to keep from having to eat out while staying there and everything appeared spotless. Unfortunately, first impressions are often wrong. To be fair, I want to give some positive points, before tearing into them:||||1) The staff - everyone was friendly, helpful and courteous. ||2) The breakfast - while no hotel can do a breakfast buffet right now, at least I didn't feel like I was getting a horse-style food bag. You get to choose your items from a pretty decent selection. While I would love to have seen some healthier alternatives (unsweetened oatmeal, more fruit), I think the hotel's selection was very good considering the limited ways things can be done.||3) The area is well located for many hospitals, shopping malls, restaurants, etc. I also walked every day and never felt in danger. While the whole area is really not set up to be walker-friendly, there were enough areas where you could find an alternative if a sidewalk wasn't available. ||4) The gym has enough choices if you don't want to go outside.||||Now, the reason for my blast: We had come here for hubby's heart surgery at Medical City. He's also a below-the-knee amputee and must have a shower seat and handicap support bars in the bathroom. This room had all of these. Unfortunately, on the 7th night of our stay, the same day as hubby's heart surgery (he was allowed to check out the same day), he told me that a slat in the middle of the handicap seat had broken. For the record, hubby is NOT obese nor overweight, so it's not a case of too much hubby on too little seat. I immediately reported this to the receptionist the next day. No one came. The next day, hubby showed me where cracks were now going up the wall and that the seat was pulling away from the wall. I again reported it to the receptionist and her eyes grew big like she had either forgotten or was shocked that it hadn't been fixed. NO ONE CAME. The THIRD morning, we were checking out and I again reported it, this time to a young guy. Obviously, I can't say whether it was fixed, but TWO DAYS passed when a situation went from bad to dangerous because no one bothered to fix a broken seat. Imagine if that was you sitting on that seat, only to find that it was prayer that kept it from coming out of the wall.||||Cons:||||1) The staff - for the above situation, someone dropped the ball on maintenance. Was it the receptionist's failure for not reporting a serious problem or maintenance for not responding? ||2) Paid parking. It's not like you have a choice. Either you pay them or you're screwed. Does the hotel really need an extra $7/night that badly? Why not just add it to the charge and make it seem like it's free?||3) Bugs coming out of the shower drain. ||4) The heating/air unit was noisy and blew cold air out of a vented door. The room was comfortable, but it was a really...
