NO BREAD PRODUCTS or anything with flour, including no tortilla, no crackers, no noodles for the ducks! ¡Sin pan, sin tortilla, sin fideos, sin galletas! Dispose of trash and masks properly as they can get caught on wildlife.
Ever since April 2022 the city has culled the population of ducks by 70%. I am super upset. I miss the absolute masse of ducks that this pond used to house. I don't know how to react further.
This is a lovely park with many geese and ducks. I love coming here to relax and feed the ducks bird seed, lettuce, unsalted corn, unsalted peas, unsalted sardines, and other healthy snacks for them. There are some benches and some trash cans but not that many. No lights in the park for after dark plus no restrooms. There is a fountain in the pond but I've never seen it on. Many people still feed the ducks and geese bread/bread products, like tortillas, despite the signs and it's really bad for them since it's basically junk food for them; no one but the public regulates what people feed the...

Gateway Park sits right along Arbrook, which makes finding it easy. But, you end up trading accessibility for a steady hum of cars. Best spot for parking is in the roundabout area at the end of Alexandria Dr — which is right across from Breakfast & Much More and Steak ‘n Shake 🚗
The small pond is packed full of ducks; fun if you have some duck food, but a bit much if you’re looking for quiet. The paved loop is short but runs all the way around the pond. So, plenty of access points to getting closer to the wildlife 🦆
Tip: Although you’re allowed to feed the ducks seed (not bread), it’s certainly not mandatory. They’re everywhere, so you can get close to them with or without food 🥬
Overall, giving Gateway Park a solid 4 stars. Definitely worth a visit if you live nearby or want a kid-friendly duck-feed, but not a...
Read moreThis is a nice little part tucked in between Parks mall and a lower middle-class residential neighborhood. If you just need a quick outdoor break and you're in the area, this is a fine park to visit. There are ducks everywhere, but thankfully they are relatively safe because the street is a cul-de-sac type orientation, so there's not through traffic. There are lots of benches located on the south side of the trail. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 Stars was because I kept seeing garbage everywhere, as people come to feed the dogs, and some people must throw their junk food in the natural environment, which I hate. Too bad the city doesn't clean it up a little bit, it could be much better with some regular...
