Their kiosk doesn't list ingredients properly. One of the dishes containing jalapenos does not have it listed as a topping. All the other dishes with it added have it listed, and that one lists carrots instead. Guess who's allergic to Jalapenos? Me. (Luckily not to the point cross contamination is a huge concern but if I actually eat them I get very sick).
If you end up with an allergen because of the kiosk being labeled wrong they will at least initially refuse to entirely make it right. They offered to "swap " my food, except what they meant by that was charge me for an entirely new meal. They do not like issuing refunds.
I did end up getting my entree replaced (with an incorrect order. Mild instead of no spice. Included onions which I'm luckily not allergic to but do upset my stomach). I decided to call the side a loss (their cheese sauce is all jalapeno cheese). I didn't mention the jalapeno allergy before ordering, and just assumed the default cheese wouldn't be spicy since they offer "No spice" as an option for entrees. And after the way it seemed like a huge deal to replace or refund the entree, I didn't want to cause more trouble for the employee or myself when management clearly has policies hostile to refunds or replacements.
"No refunds even when we should " definitely seems to be the policy considering they didn't refund the difference between the drink I initially paid for and the water I ended up having to get. Again not on the employees but it reflects badly on a business. I know less than a dollar isn't a lot but it's the principle.
As for the rest of the experience? I ate in while waiting for my ride, picking around the onions. It was not great. I could hear the AC but it was barely doing anything. It was about as hot as it was outside during a heat wave.
The food was honestly not great. I think the veggies were fresh and that's about all I can say. The meat was dry and bland except for heat (like heat was the only thing you could taste with no flavor from spices or even a flavor from whatever they used to make it hot), and the white sauce they advertise so heavily wasn't anything to write home about. Maybe it was a bad batch but I'm not inclined to try again and find out. I've had better food from similar fast food in the area.
Ended up extremely sick from the bites I took that had the allergen. Started having a reaction while waiting for my Uber and was visibly and audibly not doing well. I should have called 911 but I couldn't think straight and just wanted to get home.
An employee came out several times and seemed to be uncomfortable and purposely ignoring me while I was very visibly having a medical issue after I mentioned earlier I had an allergy. No offer of help or checking if I was okay.
Staff definitely needs more training on how to handle situations like that. The girl who took my order and was the one ignoring me was initially very nice, so I'm assuming the way she handled that was from not knowing what to do and deciding to take the "head in the sand" approach to a problem, rather than malice.
Sometimes if someone is having a medical emergency they can't think we'll enough to call for help. If you see someone in distress don't treat them like an inconvenience. I understand it could be something you've never dealt with before, but try to show the humanity you hope people would show to you.
To top it off the booth I was in was weirdly sticky along with the floor. I keep wet wipes with me and it came away very visibly dirty as if the table and seat hadn't been cleaned in a while.
I have a feeling if my experience refects their usual food and service quality, the reason they're open is because they're right by UTA, and serve halal food, two things that help get customers in this area.
Luckily I don't need my food to be halal and am not a student so I will definitely not be back.
(I was luckily okay enough by the time I got home I didn't need to go to the hospital. Though apparently according to my doctor I could have had another reaction later so I should go...

From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a friendly smile and warm welcome. The customer service at New York Eats is truly outstanding, and it's one of the many reasons why I continue to come back time and time again.
The food at New York Eats is simply amazing. Whether you're in the mood for a burger, wrap or a mix platter, the quality and consistency of the food is always top-notch. I've been coming to this restaurant for 5-5 years, and I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal. Everything is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.
One of my favorite dishes at New York Eats is the Bronx burger. This burger is juicy, delicious, and cooked to perfection. The combination of flavors is simply amazing, and I always leave feeling completely satisfied.
Another must-try dish at New York Eats is their mix platters. You get to choose your choice of meat, rice, and veggies, all topped with their out-of-this-world white sauce. Every bite is simply heavenly, and it's easy to see why this dish is so popular.
Finally, I must mention how clean and well-maintained the restaurant is. It's clear that the staff takes great pride in their work, and they go above and beyond to ensure that everything is clean and tidy.
Overall, I cannot recommend New York Eats enough. The food is consistently amazing, the customer service is outstanding, and the restaurant is always clean and well-maintained. If you're in the Arlington area and looking for a great meal, this is the...
Read moreWhat once was a great place to grab a quick bite even late in the night has quickly declined to being at the bottom of my list.
They're constantly experimenting with their portion sizes, seeing how much of it they can decrease before people start complaining. They've even gone ahead and removed the falafel from the Jackson Heights platter for no reason. Why just remove it from this platter alone? Doesn't really make sense to me.
Also, they constantly mess up the orders, forget the sauces and don't even bother numbering large orders anymore. We end up spending a bunch of time trying to figure out which order belongs to whom.
The garlic fries have nothing that even tastes remotely close to garlic in them. Just feels like I'm eating plain fries with parsley most of the times. Also, there's barely any difference between the medium and the large fries. You're better off getting the medium if you absolutely must eat the fries. I'd say just skip the other fries and get the plain ones until figure things out.
And if this doesn't feel enough, they even sunk so low as to give my friend piece of chicken in his veggie platter. He's strictly vegetarian and they just ruined that. Absolutely disgusting!
Also, please fix your water from the fountain. I don't understand why it needs to be broken for weeks together.
I used to crave for their good food every now and then but not anymore. This place used to be a godsend for the students near UTA but it's slowly fading away now. I just hope they get their act...
