Maybe pizza is just a side item that they provide and their real passion goes into their Vietnamese and Italian dishes, which I have yet to try, but it is was extremely disappointing.
I got a large pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza from them which cost near $15. It wasn't as big as I expected, but the site does list that it is 15", so I can't blame them for that. So, it's a typical "large" pizza. Not as big as you might expect from a typical mom and pop italian restaurant like Vitos or New York Pasta & Subs.
So, that's just a nit pick which is my own fault for expecting larger than the listed size. The real problem is everything else. It is JUST LIKE a pizza you would buy at the grocery store deli. Get you a Walmart or WinCo ready to bake pizza in their deli section, and you will have had the pizza I had from Vietalia Kitchen but for near half the price. The cheese was present but not plentiful. The sauce was minimal. The crust was probably double the thickness of a thin crust pizza, but absolutely no more and not particularly soft. Just kind of dense and dry, like a frozen or grocery store deli pizza.
It tasted good. Standard good pizza taste. Nothing beyond. No outstanding herbs or flavors, no stringy cheese, no substantive crust. The pepperoni was fine. Not sure I've ever had pepperoni. The Italian sausage was disappointing to look at, though I'm not sure it didn't taste fine. It was just tinier chunks in size than you will find on pizzas that are not frozen or low quality. Maybe it's high quality Italian sausage, but it has the look and all the dimensions of cheap frozen pizza like Tombstone or whatever.
So, I hope that they can completely revamp their pizza operation to match the apparent care they look to put into their Vietnamese and Italian dishes. I will not be trying another pizza until I get some marketing in the mail indicating that the pizza has been completely revamped.
Wish them the...
Read moreVietalia has been one of my go to places for Vietnamese food, specifically pho. But after today I will not be returning and nor should you who is reading this. I went in with my sister to fill my craving for pho. My sister ordered the same. We also ordered egg rolls and 2 drinks. While I was able to eat (my not so great this time around) pho my sister was not feeling well. It was very apparent too because the guy that took and brought us our order looked back at her and asked if she was ok. She said she was but in fact felt quite nauseous. She insisted I finish my food, that she’d be ok. After I finished, I walked to the counter to ask for a to go container. Annoyed looking, the guy went back to the kitchen and an older lady poked her head around to look at me. He came back to me with the to go container and pointed towards the ground by me. I looked not seeing what he was pointing at. He proceeds to point more apparently at the hand written sign down by my waist. I said “she doesn’t feel good” and he says I know,… the owner.” If you know- why bother even showing the sign. You already gave me the container. And I’m a paying customer! This is so petty and shows so much I don’t care about my service as a business- one of my biggest pet peeves!! It’s enough for me to say, there’s way too much competition for you to treat your customers in this poor manner. I will not be recommending again and I will not...
Read moreFirst things first, I do like their food. I frequently get the chicken or pork vermicelli and it’s really good. I usually order delivery and I’ve had no problems there. UberEats is the best bet since Grubhub has a minimum delivery order and Vietalia delivers their own Grubhub orders. UberEats is the standard delivery service. Today, though, I decided to go there and order/take out food myself. That’s where things got a little… different.
Now I’ve been in the restaurant several times before. Even eaten in a couple of times but wow, the lady who runs the place is getting angrier and grumpier by the day. When I got to the counter there was nobody to be seen. They have a bell on the counter that says to ring for service, so I did. The moment I rang it, the lady appeared from around the corner. I said “oh I didn’t see you there”. She gave me a dirty look, said nothing, and went to mess around in the fridge for a while before coming back to the counter to take my order. Rude.
Also I don’t know if they simply don’t have AC or just never run it but it’s terribly hot in there this summer which would make eating in during the summer months miserable.
I’ll most likely continue to order from there since I do like the food. I just sincerely hope the lady who runs the place finds some...
