This is the worst place I have ever been. I gave it 2 different chances. Each time my family and I were never seated. The first time the manager was upset because we seated ourselves. Then today when we went still they did not seat us all the tables were dirty so we sat by the door in hopes they would clean tables and they would offer us to move, which didn’t happen. Yet when all these white people came in (yes I am white and the rest of my family is Mexican) the Mexican manager would say oh don’t sit by the door it is too cold. Here I sit with my family 4 of which are children she never offered us to move but offered other people. When she brought our food she roughly put the plates in my hands instead of sitting the food in front of us. I asked for an extra plate she never brought it. The bacon was so hard you could not chew it. I went to pay which I should not have I asked if I could speak with her since she was the manager she said to me. What do you want. I proceeded to share my concerns with her when I notice all this bacon that had been cooked about 30-40 pounds not kept heated just sitting out in the open air. Food has to be kept at a certain temperature I explained to her. The manager begin to yell at me and told me to get out. Don’t waste your time at this place. They...
Read moreExtremely over-priced and better food can be cooked at home. I went to this place, which used to be less expensive, and for 2 bean tacos, 1 quesadilla, an egg w/potato plate, migas, and the Rey plate, and drinks, came out to $81 (not including tip)!!!! Let me also add there was NO type of meat on any of the plates. I went to dinner the next night at a very nice Mexican establishment and we ordered steak, tacos, 2 kids meals and dessert and it was $89 which makes sense considering better quality food, nicer establishment, better location. I decided to call Paula’s to see why it was so expensive in comparison considering they have sticky floors and dirty tables and they just said it was price increase. Turns out, after going over my order and having them ring it up again to make sure I was charged properly, they snuck in an extra charge of $8! Anyways, please spend your money at a cleaner and much tastier place bc this was not it for the prices they charge! Never again...
Read moreThe Tortillas tasted and felt old. The barbacoa did not taste right. Tasted sour even. Like the meat went bad then they cooked it. The chorizo and beans tasted okay. But the Tortilla ruined the taco. I've come to every iteration of this restaurant over decades. Casa Jose in Arlington. Then it burned down. Estellas in Mansfield. Then it burned down. Now it's Paula's. Back in Arlington. We went on a Sunday for breakfast. Less than 1/4 of the tables had diners. I can see why. It's unfortunate that the quality of food has plummeted. I'm from San Antonio. So are the founders of this restaurant. The menu says 'San Antonio style Mexican food". I moved back to San Antonio a year ago. I was back in the DFW area for a wedding. I was excited to go back to this restaurant. Huge let down. Maybe somebody was having a bad day. I don't know. But honestly, they shouldn't have served that...
