I placed an online order with Ravenna Pizza yesterday at 6:56 PM for a medium pizza, expecting a quick pickup at 7:06 PM as clearly stated on the receipt. I arrived at 7:15, only to be told the pizza wasn’t ready and I would need to wait another 15 minutes. I waited patiently. At 7:40, 40 minutes after my scheduled pickup time, I asked again, and was told yet another 15 minutes was needed. That’s when I realized how poorly this place is run.
I requested to cancel my order and asked for a refund. The attendant told me he couldn’t process it right away but promised it would be handled in 10 minutes. It’s now more than 24 hours later, and I’ve received no refund. I will be reporting this to my credit card company.
While waiting, I noticed other customers experiencing the same delay issues, and I took a look at the pizza slices on display—greasy, unappealing, and sitting out under poor lighting. I was already regretting ordering from here, and the unprofessional and disorganized customer service sealed it. I never got my food, never got my refund, and never want to deal with this place again.
Do yourself a favor: skip Ravenna Pizza. This place is a complete mess.
Update:
In response to the owner’s reply — I want to clarify that much of what was written is simply not true.
At no point did anyone identify themselves as a manager or make any effort to acknowledge the inconvenience or resolve the issue.
No one offered me a $30 gift card — this did not happen. It’s extremely frustrating to see the business trying to rewrite the situation with made-up gestures.
I was never asked where I live, nor did I say I was visiting. In fact, I live in Arlington, so this part of their reply is completely fabricated.
The original review stands: disorganized, unprofessional service, and a refund I had to chase down. It’s disappointing to now see dishonesty added...

Read moreI know this place is getting rave reviews, but let me lay it down straight. There's good news here and there's not so good news. The good news is that this restaurant, as far as I can tell, is not owned by Metropolitan Hospitality Group, Scott Parker, Mike Cordero, or Fitzgerald Lewis--companies and entrepreneurs that own a majority of restaurants in the area and who are responsible for the prevalence of similar, bland, overpriced dishes up and down the B-R corridor. The not so good news is the PPSIP--price per square inch of pizza.
This is at least the second restaurant to take the space that was once occupied by the beloved, and much missed, Santa Fe restaurant. They were kicked out because of skyrocketing rents. So I suppose it's the landlord we can ultimately blame for having to pay nearly $8 for a piece of pizza that's no bigger than the palm of your hand. The pizza is good, the crust is excellent, and the gelato is amazing. But seriously, you're lucky if you get out of this place for under $70 (sans gelato) if you want to feed a small family. Given the pending economic doom that's forecast to occur in the next few months, my suggestion is to spend that money on a handful of frozen pizzas next door at Target. Maybe you could stop in here for the gelato on the walk home if you're feeling...
