I really wanted to like this place, but left more than disappointed. I had heard some good things but upon leaving and looking at the reviews, post visit, they make sense.
Wait and what’s missing were the words of our visit. Wait for a server to even acknowledge us after being seated. Wait for water, waited to order dinner until the apps on the table were finished. Wait for a new glass as the one I got had a nice chip in the rim. Wait for rice and beans, asked twice when they did not get delivered with the meals they came with. Missing a salad that came with 1 meal. I ordered the chicken burrito bowl, which was missing the avocado crème. Missing our waiter, who while surface friendly was slow and seemed to have 0 sense of urgency. Missing chips for quac and queso that was delivered. Missing fresh chips as on of the bowls was stale.
A few bites into my chicken burrito bowl which had little chicken to begin with I found meat. I think it was hamburger but could have been pork, doesn’t matter, I don’t eat meat. Having Crohn’s disease it’s a no for me, so I didn’t bother to eat anymore. Let the waitress know and she had the mngr come over, Erika was her name I believe, who offered to remake the dish. She was pleasant but I declined to have it remade as offered. Didn’t see the point It was over spiced and the rice seemed undercooked anyway. It would have been nicer if they offered to take it off my bill as it was almost a full bowl of food.
Drinks were ok. Ordered a margarita, it was tasty but not $15 tasty. Chuy’s makes a better top shelf one.
A little positivity the atmosphere was good. The restaurant itself was nice inside and out. I had thought we would order dessert, it looked really cool, but about half way through the meal I already knew I was not willing to pay for a $35 chocolate piñata.
$200 for dinner not including tip, for a nice atmosphere but subpar food and service was enough for me. Sadly I will not be returning, hope they step up their game for the...
Read moreI came here to have a nice birthday dinner, and even though the food was amazing, the customer service is pathetic. The young lady at the entry was super rude! I walked in and wasn’t greeted or even asked if I had a reservation. I stand there looking dumb for about 10-15 mins in hopes she makes an attempt to come my way and ask how many people and provide an estimated wait time, but I guess I was asking for too much. I finally walk up to the front desk and I ask her how much longer would we have to wait till we are seated. She proceeds telling me about 30 more minutes, and still doesn’t ask for my name or the number of people! After a long wait we are finally seated! I specifically chose this place because of their famous chocolate piñata, so as soon as we get a waiter, I ask her for the damn chocolate piñata. The waitress tells me she will put in a request after we finish eating, keep in mind it’s 8pm, the place closes at 9pm. I wasn’t okay with it but I agreed so we could begin to order. As we were eating, she probably came by once to ask if everything was okay. I asked for a refill and she hesitated, I asked for an additional order of chicken fajitas and she hesitated. At about 5 mins before 9pm she comes and gives me my check and tells me that the pastry place is closed and I am unable to get a chocolate piñata cake. I know it may not seem like much, but it was MY birthday and it was important for me. I only really chose to go eat there because of the chocolate piñata. But will not be coming back to this location ever. I really hope this review is ready by their management and a change is made because honestly the food is amazing but with customer service like that, it’s not worth paying the...
Read moreI really wish that I could give it no stars!!! Let me begin by saying that Uncle Julio’s is my mother’s favorite restaurant. We usually have a positive experience, however that was not the case on 08/06/25 at 8:30pm at the Arlington location. We arrived a placed our drink order with our server which were The Swirl margarita with a GM floater. We received the drinks with no floater. Next, as our food came out, all the modifications were incorrect. Our waiter, Jonathan, went to tell the kitchen staff about the incorrect orders. The kitchen staff then began to argue with him about the modifications. Jonathan then returned to our table, where we informed him that we could hear everything the kitchen staff was saying from where we were sitting. Our server then apologized for the unprofessionalism. We then had to return our condiments because we received crème instead of sour cream. When our waiter went back to the kitchen, a woman, who I later found out was the manager Melissa, began yelling an our server. Afterward we were so disappointed that we closed our tab and took our food To go. At no point in our visit did the manager, Melissa, come to apologize for the mistakes or the disruption that her and her staff caused. I understand that at the end of the shift everyone is ready to go home. I was ready to go as well, however, the disrespect and unprofessionalism that we endured is unacceptable. It is my hope that you and your staff do better in the future but until then, I will just go to the...
