As someone from Mexico City, a place where tacos are a beloved culinary tradition, I was excited to try this spot, as it came highly recommended. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations, though I understand that sometimes you might visit a restaurant on an off day.
I ordered tacos de lengua, birria de barbacoa, and tripa. Right from the start, there were small service hiccups—my order was taken incorrectly, which delayed things a bit, and when the tacos arrived, a couple of them were unfortunately cold. I was particularly looking forward to the barbacoa, but it was much greasier than I’m accustomed to, and the flavors didn’t quite hit the mark.
The salsas are usually the soul of a taco experience, so I tried three different ones. Sadly, they seemed to have been sitting out for some time and tasted like they weren’t fresh. I’d recommend reviewing the freshness of the salsas to ensure that customers can enjoy them at their best.
Another aspect that stood out was the wait time—it was longer than expected, which can sometimes happen during busy hours, but it’s good to let customers know if there’s going to be a delay. Unfortunately, the next day, both my partner and I experienced some stomach discomfort, which could point to some issues with food handling practices.
Lastly, the price was a bit steep—nearly $40 for the meal. While I don’t mind paying for quality, I do think there’s room to improve the value offered, especially if certain details, like food temperature and freshness, are addressed.
I want to emphasize that I see great potential in this place—it has a lot of charm and a menu with interesting options. With some adjustments in service, food quality, and overall consistency, I think it could be a fantastic spot for taco lovers like myself. I hope this feedback is helpful, as I genuinely wish this restaurant the best...
Read moreI normally don’t write too many reviews but it’s the principle. So their were only 2 of us this early afternoon. They had who may have been their young daughter (between the age of 8-10 yrs old) taking the orders and handling our cash and credit payments. Now I l ow this may be a family owned business but she really shouldn’t have been doing these tasks. On top of that the customer ahead of me she had credit card issues with and he was worried she’d double charged him. Then with my order same thing on top of taking my order incorrectly. And when I brought it up to what seemed like the father/manager or owner, he charged me the difference of the fajita taco that I was supposed to get instead of what she gave me. On top of the fact that it’s a surcharge every time he ran my credit card which I shouldn’t have been charged considering it was their fault. Like if they are going to have a child doing these tasks they should at least oversee her and if she does make a mistake they should be more accommodating. Considering I’m quite sure it’s against child labor laws to have a child doing this type of work on top of being doing a hot grill, fryer and customers food. It’s def a food handling violation. Yea I won’t be back. And I typically...
Read moreWorking in customer service industry I know good from bad. This establishment wasn’t rude but just clearly doesn’t care or doesn’t know what customer service is. When myself, a new customer, walks in and orders 6 tacos for $11 and I look at the tablet showing an 11.91 total that’s what I expect to pay. He takes my card. Charges it. Then when I question what the additional .60 fee is after he hands me a receipt. He just said. It’s what the machine charges. Never explained that, never mentioned that, but did charge my card in hopes of me not catching it. After waiting patiently right next to the register in a booth. My food came out and the cook I heard her say it’s 6 tacos. It was in Spanish but I didn’t make it known I understand that. And the owner/manager/cashier person just let it sit there and sit and sit and sit. Finally I had to make my way to front to make sure that was mine. Same person then ignores me to speak to person behind me in the line and just holds up the bag as if to say “he’s your food come and get it” and never said a word to me. Very pitiful service and doesn’t deserve to stick around if that’s how they treat customers. I wish I could do less...
