Unfortunately this place seems to have sucked the soul out of the building. Comparing it to Doc Burnsteins is like night and day. I really really wanted to like this place, but it just absolutely fell flat on all accounts. They kept the train but little else remains and it literally feels like a bland movie set. Everything is bland, white and not colorful or cheerful. There are also not any chairs for people who are disabled or not skinny. Good luck fitting into a booth if you are most people in this country. The stools are not great for children to sit on. My mom literally fell onto the floor getting out of the booth and none of the workers even noticed or offered to help us at all. Yes she did not want to make a fuss and didn't yell or anything, but come on. The workers were nice when we directly interacted, but no one greeted us, no one offered samples, and it was just such an overall bland experience. They painted over the murals on the walls. The historical photos are all gone. There are no community announcements or any involvement or feel of community in there at all. The menu is confusing, as they mention toppings on the kids menu but they don't bother listing them anywhere. They're in jars that look like decorations just sitting in the middle of the two ice cream displays. Also, why do you have one freezer closed but with the names of the flavors on there? Just have them all open at once like they used to? The ice cream I got was okay. It was banana but it just wasn't anything great. There was not a depth of flavor. The chocolate for kids is dark salted chocolate and way too rich. All in all we just felt like we had such high hopes and the whole experience was a complete let down. The word bland just perfectly describes how this place feels which is unfortunate. Someone just needs to inject some life into this woefully mediocre...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn a recent hot day, I was doing photos in AG Village & the Farmers Market & I happened to get very thirsty. While a nice Farmers Market juice helped, it was not what I wanted. I then happened to cruise by Rori's. While I heard about the drama with the old store here, I had not tried the new one yet.
I somehow needed a refreshing shake. After consulting with the bright young workers, I decided upon a Coffee Shake. Not too sweet, not too coffee bitter... but just right.
In short, it was amazing.
If one looks at the prices here, it is easy to figure out the logic. All prices are slanted toward the high end, but if one looks carefully, the larger sizes are a much better deal. One scoop items are not much more in price if one up sizes.
It may seem a bit odd, but the ice cream is excellent.
Sadly, like most ice creams now, the some flavors can seem faddish. I like to stick with clean simple flavors that are not that sweet. I cannot stand IC that has too much "junk" in it.
Great Ice cream should have clean tones and notes, and fill one's heart with the pleasure of having tasted ambrosia.
After all, I was one of the best Ice Cream store managers in Brooklyn, back in the day. Our Carvel store was the highest producing store in the entire state of New York. I would personally make products & restock the entire store over the weekend, without any sleep. I made ice cream into cakes, pies, sandwiches, tubs, and you name it.
If anyone knows the innards & intimate facts about "Wally The Whale", it is me.
I sure love great ice cream....and that is what they produce & sell here.
There is really nothing better than walking around AG Village with a cone, sundae, or shake to make it a great day in the village.
MAKE ICE-CREAM GREAT AGAIN!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointed. We were looking forward to a new ice cream store. Wellll... It's just ice cream in a cup with not so "artisnal" ice cream. If you want a cone... well...be prepared to pay more$. Scoops were good sized:) By the looks of their locations their target market is high$. I would not recommend for families. We were 5. Too expensive for standard ice cream (in a cup!!!). The bar was set high from the previous companies Doc Burnsteins/Burnardoz having better tasting ice cream. We feel you didn't meet our expectations. We will not be back. You can entise people to post great reviews, but your future presence here will tell the truth. Too expensive for standard ice cream. I am not super confident in your grass fed cows. Most are grain fed to finish, even when grass fed. So if your advertising grass fed then they truly need to be. Sorry you needed to bring it and you didn't. FYI for those interested...rainbow sprinkles flavor is just vanilla and rainbow sprinkles. Nothing...
