Will Level 3 be my perfect matcha? Let's play matcha-maker, shall we?
Meccha Matcha is a purveyor of all things matcha & more. Soft serve, ice cream, floats, lattes, shaved ice, smoothies, Matcha 8 parfait & tea (including non-dairy options), utilizing only ceremonial grade matcha. I'm a matcha lover, both of it's health benefits and it's bitter, earthy flavor profile. Having not indulged in a cup of ice cream recently, I thought why not satisfy my sweet tooth at this new local establishment.
Matcha ice cream (Level 3)- Go big or go home! Consisting of 55% matcha, Meccha Matcha's Level 3 ice cream is the real deal. Smooth, silky, earthy with just enough sweetness to take some edge off of that strong bitterness.
Service was good. I asked which menu items were available at Level 3, and was told the ice cream and some other product which escapes me. Sampling is encouraged, although I forgot to ask and when I finished my cup of matcha ice cream, the employee was busy with other customers.
Minimal amount of seating, so it might be standing room only during the busier hours. Parking is via a private lot shared with Belly Bombz Kitchen and other businesses. Additional parking can be had at the Walgreens lot directly behind & south of Meccha Matcha.
I'm sold! Meccha Matcha is a wonderful new ice cream and cold drink spot in my area. Having Level 3 55% matcha on the menu, means I can justify my sweet tooth by simply proclaiming the health benefits of matcha green tea. In other words, it's a win-win!

Read moreI've been here a few times and I have gone to try a few things off of there menu. I've tried their level one and two matcha regular, I've also tried their Ube matcha latte, and their black sesame latte. This place you can definitely taste the matcha in terms of it being forward. Not a watered down drink I assure you. I don't know if they pre make their drinks, but it doesn't matter since the quality you can taste and since I've ordered a few drinks at different occasion I feel like it's pretty consistent. I have not been able to get the ice cream because apparently it's a weekend or certain day thing. The only times I've been here are on a Monday or Tuesday before I go to a dance class. I think all of the drinks are good, but definitely do take their caffeine warning to heart because even though I thought level 2 would be okay when I'm drinking it at 7:00 p.m., I wasn't able to sleep until maybe 1:00 a.m. or 2:00 a.m. in terms of the specialty matcha drinks, I did feel like the Ube and sesame held up well to the matcha flavor. For me personally I liked all of them. It probably just depends on what kind of mood I am. So I don't really have a favorite. This is probably one of the best matcha places in the area or even Orange County Los Angeles so definitely try it out! Places kind of small and there is some seating area to meet up with your friends. Parking is kind of hard if it's crowded so maybe go at a not busy...
Read moreMatcha Yuzu Latte w Matcha Jelly:
Very strong Yuzu flavor with Yuzu bits. The Yuzu overpowers the matcha but it's still pretty good. The matcha jelly is very muted in flavor and doesn't come through even the fat straw well.
Matcha Strawberry Latte w oat milk: Tastes like real strawberry so it isn't very sweet and has a grainy texture. Pretty good but I didn't try much. The oat milk works really well w it and makes it slightly grainier so it works w the strawberry. The matcha is the strongest flavor in this.
Matcha Lavender Latte: Lavender flavor is very subtle but it's good. Didn't try much of it. If you don't like strong lavender this is a good one to try because it's subtle!
Coco matcha milk tea: Tastes like a split coconut and matcha latte. It's good but not my favorite because I don't really like coconut and matcha together.
Matcha Cookies: Kind of tastes like it was made w coconuts. Very subtle sweet flavor. The texture is more like a crunchy cookie with some chew. I prefer softer cookies.
Samples: Level 1 soft serve: so good! Not too bitter.
Level 2 ice cream: good! I like this one a lot. It kind of tastes stronger than 3? But level 2 and 3 seemed pretty similar at least.
Level 3 ice cream: goooood!! I like this one a lot. It's not bitter and you can taste matcha with no...
