March 17, 2025 (Monday morning) - I need you to hear me out for a second. I know, 1 star for the food but 3 stars overall is a little misleading for a second, but here's my backstory:
I was a huge fan of Long John Silver's for just about the entirety of my childhood. Maybe that was just to avoid McDonald's or Taco Bell whenever I had the chance. I will be 19 in 2 months after publishing this review, so I decided what other than to get a little taste of childhood. I always went crazy over the leftover batter remnants, whatever I looked at them as.
Except I didn't. Maybe I forgot to grab myself a bottle of malt vinegar just to cut out the fatty taste in the batter? Here's the thing: I ordered one of those $6 shrimp baskets; battered. I will say I was pleasantly surprised with the fries as they were cooked to perfection. But I can't say the same for the shrimp and the hushpuppies. Again, maybe I forgot the vinegar, but the batter tasted extremely fatty and greasy. I thought even greasier with the hushpuppies - they were literally just oily bread balls.
I was even more disappointed with the lobster bites. Anyone that knows me would know that I go crazy over anything lobster. I had a whole lobster twice for my 13th and 16th birthdays. I was excited for these bites, but when I took a bite, IT WAS SHRIMP (maybe that's just the consistency of them?)! What did I expect? They were only $5.
Just because my food was 1 star (kudos to the fries for bringing it up to 1.4 stars) doesn't mean the overall experience was 1 star. The people that were working there that day were exceptionally nice. They let me take my time when ordering after I was greeted a warm welcome and goodbye. One of the ladies put a lot of love into serving me.
So, the only reason I will consider returning is for the people, definitely not the food. Keep in mind I have eaten at this location 7 years ago, and the food then was a lot...
Read more100% overall 5 star service, 5 star food quality, 5 star fresh fry oil, 5 star girl on the speaker being a total sweetheart I wish I could have gone inside the store and told every team member how thankful I was that they came to work today and how grateful I am that whatever may be going on in their lives, that it didn't prevent them from making my food and being very awesome and kind to me. I wish I could talk to the CEO and give everyone a $1.00 Raise and a pizza party with lots of balloons and cotton candy. I'm almost moved to tears. My experience today was wonderful. I've been struggling with panic attacks at work and every day certain triggers are unavoidable and I feel helpless. And it's a scary feeling. But I felt love in the drive thru. And not mushy lovey dovey love but appreciation and like I matter to someone and there was a connection and I felt like me again. Today was more than a #1, you guys made me feel like number 1, when I haven't quite been myself. There's not enough cotton candy in the world to show my...
Read moreWent there today after I picked up my son from Pre-K to grab some lunch. The person working drive-through, her name is Caitlyn was extremely rude. I was placing an order and a large truck went by so I asked her if she could repeat what she said and with attitude & acting like I couldn't comprehend English said very loudly & as slow as possible "I. Said. Would. You. Like. A. Drink. With. That. It. Doesn't. Come. With. One?" Super off-putting. I'm not sure why she was so upset. She should understand with the placement of the box sometimes is very difficult to hear. I politely told her, that I was gonna go somewhere else. Called to get her name & talked to a manager (didnt get her name) but she was very friendy and apologized. However they should definitely retrain Caitlyn on...
