Jittery Joe's Coffee - Alps Village — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

I frequent this jittery joes, as well as the watkinsville location. For years it has been my favorite and go to shop, lately quality control of the cups have been my biggest issue. And the reason for writing this review on 10-19 is due to the cashier handing me my scolding hot large coffee for it to spill all over my pants, arm, and my brand new t-shirt which is now completely ruined. As I thought maybe I was being careless, I attempt to put the lid back on, to notice the lid does not even fit the cup and was just sitting on top. I pull right back around, showing the cashier only her for the quickly apologize and tell me how they have been trying to tell the owner it’s a problem and it’s needs to be fixed asap. They were very nice to try and help me with paper towels and cleaner, but that defeats the purpose of a now ruined outfit, a ruined day, possible burns, and stickiness covering the entire driver side of my vehicle. I love their menu options including delicious bakery items and special seasonal drinks. The store recently got a makeover and is super cute and inviting to hang with friends or study with your laptop at a table. The bathrooms were amazingly clean. Megan was such a positive and cheerful barista. She took pride in wanting to make me the perfect iced latte! I also purchased some coffee beans to bring home with me. Theirs is so much better than the higher priced bitter taste of that other big coffee chain! The Baxter Street location in Athens, GA is my favorite location! Visited here today to get some work done. This is a nice location of Jittery Joe's with a lot of space to work. I got there around 10am on a Sunday and barely anyone was there, but the tables started to fill up around 12pm. The music was a little loud, but it was tolerable with noise canceling headphones. I got a regular drip coffee which was satisfactory as well as a poppy seed discount muffin and a parfait. I would come back to this location again mainly because it is spacious. They also have free wifi and a few outlets if you get a space...
