Working here was definitely a different atmosphere than what I expected. The management was nice, understanding and not judgemental. Some of the employees have worked there for quite some time and that makes a difference. One employee I kid you not needed to come in 3 to 4 hours early because they did not want to miss there shift extreme dedication for a lower paying job (Eathan) witch i suggest rasies for these people. They offer an extra dollar an hour if you keep coming in witch is a good incentive for college kids to keep coming back and not miss work.
The only reason my review is missing a star is communication. Already struggling I was not able to come back into work after training because I was not able drive at night because of broken lights on my vehicle. I could not afford to fix them until I got paid. My last day working was also the last day of the pay period. They offer a service witch you could get paid the same day as you work. I was not aware that once out of the previous pay period this service no longer offered same day pay unless you worked that current pay period witch the manager could have mentioned and I could have done my best to come back in instead of calling off for 3 working days in a row.
Even after calling off and explaining the situation I was not let go and wasn't given much grief for not being able to come in. I would suggest this for anyone looking to get a first job as previously stated management is very caring of there employees current and new. The food I learned to make was also pretty good and I got to see the other side of the drivethru window and the processes of fast food.
EDIT: after reading more reviews I see one name mentioned constantly and it's Julie. She is the manager that gave me the chance to come work there even having lots of facial hair and wearing flip flops to the interview. This wonderful woman is not what people put out to be as nasty...
Read moreI ate at the Burger King on east state st on Tuesday (11/7) and didn’t have the best experience. When I ordered my food I ordered an extra side of pickles and told my cashier I would pay extra. When she called it back the Manager Julie yelled back at her ‘she can’t have a side!’ ‘I’ll give her the two, but that’s it!’
I was in total shock at how she talked towards the two of us and just responded with ‘okay’.
I apologized to my cashier and told her that I wouldn’t have asked if I would have known she would get yelled at and she responded with ‘I’m so sorry, she’s just like that sometimes’
After I get my food I walk up to get my drink and hear Julie reprimanding the cashier and had to say something. I told her that I said I would pay the extra and don’t understand why she had to be so nasty about it. I asked her name and she responded with again a nasty attitude and asked if I wanted her to write it down..
Not being able to get extra pickles is not a big deal..however her attitude was and it’s apparent by the cashier that this isn’t the only time.
I’m from the restaurant world and know how things can go and that maybe it was just a bad day. My post isn’t to get someone fired but for the business to be aware of who they hire into management. I would most likely turn around and leave if Julie was there in fear I’d get...
Read moreThis has went downhill and fast, as soon as we walked in the staff was being loud and acting like kids. They were having fun and I see no problem with that but don't let that interfere with the job. I walked up to the register with my son and he is learning to read and likes to order on his own well the girl working the counter was barking and treating the man ahead of us like a dog and so my son and I walked up and she looks at us "What do you want?" Doesn't let my son finish what he is saying just starts barking out questions that could wait. Then does the same thing to me. I brushed it off. Then she was beyond rude when I got my food because her and the manager were again playing and being loud. So we sat down my food was cold I just dealt with so I didn't have to deal with the bad service. The girl that was running the register started playing and yelling with another worker in a crowded lobby about "How stupid men are and how they can always be manipulated and thay they are just stupid dumb lifeforms." The experience...
