Went in about 6:30 PM for dinner, at the time it was packed. After a few minutes they got us seated. Tables are old and worn down same with the chairs. A bit of a tight squeeze in the booth seats. Can tell that the place needs remodeled and repainted. Felt very cramped. The art work was very pretty though. We ordered enchilada Bandera, enchilada supremas and churros. Food came out fast. The color display on the Bandera was beautiful but can tell that it's all microwaved food. The cheese was bland, the beef was a bit odd, the chicken was tender and juicy and the bean one was no different than a frozen bean burrito from the store. They did serve us chips and salsa before we ordered. Top layer of chips were fresh but the bottom of the basket were stale. Salsa had an odd soapy taste but that is due to having way too much cilantro. Churros came out, not really looking like their picture in the menu. Were extremely hard and couldn't taste any apple in them. Paid 35 dollars and was still a bit hungry due to portions being incredibly small. But next time I will be saving my money and just be buying the items from the store and...
Read moreWorst restaurant i have ever eaten at! From the food to the service it was all bad. My friend asked for napkins 3 times and they took about 30 mins to finally bring it to her. It took an hr for me and my friends to get our foods and once we got it we could barely eat any of it. One of my friends got lucky and her steak was actually seasoned but parts were a little bit too much seasoned, while my other friend got unseasoned steak in her tacos. Her tacos were hard to chew and it was just so plain. The rice and beans that came with it all tasted nasty. I ordered a quesadilla deluxe but nothing about it was deluxe! This is the first time I have eaten a cheese-less quesadilla! I also got a small little flour tortilla with the plainest looking chicken shreds in it. I also got a flat beer and my two friends ordered margaritas that were just pure tequila. They also took forever to bring us our check after we asked for it 4 times and we kept having to repeat that we all had separate checks. We hated our food so much and could barely eat a thing we ended up getting steak and shake after...
Read moreI’ve been to Gran Ranchero many times and usually enjoy it, but my most recent visit was very disappointing. It took four separate calls just to place my order, and when I finally got through, I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Instead, it took about 40 minutes — and while I can understand a delay during busy times, there wasn’t a single other customer in the restaurant.
When I arrived, I politely mentioned I had a pickup order, but the man behind the desk stayed on his phone, avoided eye contact, and refused say a single word to me the entire time I was in there including when he handed me my food. The portions were also very small and the food was cold.
If it had only been a delay, I wouldn’t be writing this review. Unfortunately, the lack of courtesy and the poor food quality made this experience disappointing enough to share. I truly hope it was...
