Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Athens

The food itself is good. However the person that worked the window the day I went was rude and cost this place their other 3 stars. I ordered a sandwhich combo with chips and a drink. I was expecting the small sandwhich and was shocked at the total bill when i got to the window. The girl took it upon herself to put my order in for the large. That was way too much sandwhich. When I asked her what made her think I wanted a large and did she hear me say I wanted a large sandwhich, she replie back in a smart tone stating no but that's what most people want. I told her I couldn't eat that much and I would prefer to have the small sandwhich. She rudely informed me that I was stuck with the large because they had already made it. Never again. As much as I like the sandwhiches, I will not eat there because of that girl. Ended up throwing half of it away. Not worth it. Not a way to keep repeat business. Beware of this place and make sure to tell them up front if you want the small or large sandwhich. If you dont you just might get...

The food is too expensive to always be messing up orders. I ordered the turkey guacamole pick 2 with a soup for the other half. ordered it with extra guac & I got it back with none on it at all. That sandwich was for my kid and he’d already gone more than halfway through it by the time I noticed it had no guacamole on it. He didn’t say anything about it having no guac so that’s when I called and told them they made my sandwich wrong. He told me they could remake it if I had the receipt. I did. He said I could pull up and they would remake it for me, I thanked him. He came out and told me he needed the other sandwich before he could give the correct one. I told him my child has already eaten it. He said they can’t give me the new sandwich without taking the old one back and without a receipt. He didn’t tell me that when I was on the phone with him and I don’t understand why I can’t receive HALF of a sandwich that wasn’t made right in the first place. Arrived, and was met at the counter with a smile. I ordered an original, a bowl of soup, and a drink. Not only were the tables clean, but the whole restaurant was nice and clean (even the restroom). Not what I expected just after lunch rush, but this Schlotzky's was on point.

Since it wasn't busy, (or maybe it's their regular service at this location), but the soup was brought out to the table first, and the sandwich a few minutes later. The sandwich was fresh, and made to order. The soup was piping hot, and even the drink station was clean and well maintained.

The next local sports events were also posted on the wall, which was a nice bit of local flavor and support. My experience here was so far above other locations. This was definitely a...
