The worst dining experience I've ever had... EVER!! A true nightmare!
On September 1st, 2018 a group of friends and I decided to dine at American Cut Steakhouse in celebration of a birthday. Reservations were made two weeks prior to the event for a party of 8; admittedly a miscalculation on my part by one person. Nonetheless, seven out of nine people arrived at the restaurant on time but we were told that we could not be seated until our entire party was present. The balloons that were brought for the birthday girl were immediately taken with promises that they would be returned upon our departure; I suppose balloons are not allowed in the establishment. Our remaining guest finally arrived but we were seated with the assumption that there were eight people at a very small table, probably intended for 6. Our waitress for the evening, named Dionne, approached us and mentioned how the table was meant for 8 people and the extra guest would require the staff to set up another table. We could all sense a little bit of an attitude/irritation but we decided to ignore it. After about 10 minutes or so, she motioned for us to come to the new table, which was much more comfortable. Dionne briefly introduced herself and began explaining how orders were going to be taken. She inappropriately commanded everyone's attention and stated that "...{she} was only going to go over the menu once". Dionne proceeded to take everyone's drink and dinner order, with an attitude. Drinks were served immediately, and food was served 25 to 30 minutes later. We proceed to eat our meal and when finished, members of the waiting staff approached the table asking if they could box up any remaining leftovers. Unfortunately, my food was taken to the back to be boxed up and never returned; something that I didn't realize until the check came. Next, the cake was presented to the table, we song Happy Birthday, and Dionne returned to the table to take the cake to the kitchen to be cut. The dinner check was brought out along with a $27 "outside dessert fee" check ($25 plus tax). A friend was puzzled by the added tax and simply question Dionne on the policy. VERY defensively, Dionne replied, "This is a Georgia law and has nothing to do with our restaurant; it's a Georgia tax" and then she walked away. In shock my friend waited for Dionne to return and apologetically explained her confusion about the tax while questioning the reason for Dionne's poor attitude. Dionne replied, "Oh, we're really going to do this tonight at 12:00 in the morning?!? You guys have had excellent service, on top of the fact that you were late! Do you really want to take it in there???" At this point Dionne has gotten the attention of the entire table! We stopped at this moment and immediately requested for the manager. The manager, Adriano Ferrucci, approaches the table but unfortunately, didn't help to make the situation any better. He provided NOTHING but excuses for Dionne's horrible attitude. At this point, the entire table is upset. The waitress takes about 15 to 20 minutes to even come back to the table to gather the money and provide change to people that had cash... To sum up this horrible experience, Dionne could care less about tending to the problem of trying to retrieve my missing food and overall the birthday dinner was RUINED! We paid and left. This was my first visit to American Cut Steakhouse and my LAST! Atlanta has multiple amazing steakhouses that have provided me with amazing customer service. Kevin Rathbun Steak, STK, and Capital Grill, to name a few.... Good luck and...
Read moreOk so i came out for my friend's birthday dinner. The first thing that caught my attention was the ambiance and the decor of the restaurant. It's a nice dim lit setting that really relaxes you in my opinion. But sadly for my first experience here that's where the good part ends. After our party was seated it seemed as if the night was gonna be a hit, but slowly started going down Hill from there. The first thing i noticed was that our Cesar salads was noticeably smaller than other tables next to us for some reason. Our server "Linden" seemed to have a very bad attitude for no apparent reason. His knowledge of portion size when it comes to ounces of lobster was off. He told us one thing but when it came out it was definitely smaller than what he said, and for the price your paying you're expecting more. Throughout the night Linden's attitude seemed to get worse as he was very short with answering questions, and condescending. The kitchen kept sending out medium steaks when medium well is what was ordered. At one point the manager walked over to our table and reached over us to grab a wine menu for another table without saying excuse me first! Towards the end of the evening when things were wrapping up, i asked for my check not having prior knowledge that they don't separate checks. Linden our server very rudely said no we don't do that. Even though i saw him do it for the table next to me. One of the staff threw away someone's food instead of asking if they wanted it boxed up. Then to top my night off Linden our server took my food to box it up which was basically 80% of my meal brought it back to me just for me to get home and see that he gave me a box full of spinach which wasn't even a part of my meal. So needless to say my first experience was everything but amazing! I've had better service from a server at applebees who wasn't guaranteed 18% gratuity when the check came. I was truly let down from the service at this establishment i expected a lot more from...
Read moreI’m extremely new to the area, just here for art school. With that being said I walk into the restaurant & it was beautiful granted, but I was treated poorly. Yes, it was my fault for not noticing there was a dress policy but again I am new to the area. I’m assuming because I had a hat on I was not in compliance with the dress code, and because of that, the girl at the front counter didn’t speak to me. After standing in front of her for minutes I had to say “excuse me” in order for her to even look at me. I mentioned a to go order and she again didn’t speak. Just pointed me to the bar. As I’m walking to the bar I was stopped because of my hat, but this guy was nice. He apologized and I said “it’s ok I didn’t know I’m not from around here I don’t know the rules” jokingly. We laughed & he told me to check it in with the same girl at the front desk. I turned around and she already has the ticket held out in my face. Still not looking at me. I take the ticket and she grabs my hat like it’s the grossest thing in her life. I walk to the bar and sit for a while not greeted, until a younger guy says “can I help you with something?” I say yes I want to place a to go order. Some other guy walks up and says very loudly “WE DONT TAKE TO GO ORDERS”. At this point I’m uncomfortable. I nod and go back to get my hat where I’m handed it back, (again like she’s holding a dirty diaper) and I leave.
I hate to have to mention that the two nicest people to me were people of color. I’d suggest maybe telling your front desk girl, you never know who you’re being judgy to. I’d like to thank this establishment for rejecting my money that is green like everyone else’s. Also, whoever is responding to the google reviews, save your little preset messages. They’re all the same to your 1 & 2 start reviews and I don’t want your nonchalant copy &...
