It is my 30th birthday weekend and my husband booked this place for 3 nights. When we arrived at about 11:30 pm on Friday night the whole 1st floor hallway smelled like smoke. This is supposed to be a non smoking establishment. They did have a small air filter in the hallway but it was NOT working well enough. We got in our room on the first floor that of course also smelled like smoke. There was an air filter in there, but the smoke smell was strong. We had to do a sniff test in both bedrooms and decide which one smelled the least like smoke. We shouldn’t have had to do that. My husband called at 6 am the next morning and was told that there was nothing that could be done at the time, but he could put in a complaint. He put in a complaint and they first expressed they could come spray. What is spray going to do? The staff was aware that the smoke was a problem and stated that previous occupants had been smoking and were reprimanded and kicked out and noted that it is very hard to get the smoke smell out. They did try to air out the room by having the windows open, but that did not help. We asked for some type of restitution and they stated they could move us to another room on THE FIRST FLOOR. Obviously that would not be helpful as the smell was on the whole first floor. We ended up staying only one night because the smell was unbearable and the staff did not think to give us any type of refund on a room that should’ve been smoke free. I came home smelling like smoke from just having slept there one night. The place was beautiful but our trip was ruined by the smell. I wished they would’ve offered some compensation for our trouble or offered to put us on a higher floor. Lastly, the glass on one of the light fixtures were cracked and not replaced. It could’ve easily fallen and cut up a guest. Also, just a suggestion: it would nice if the staff wore masks when interacting with guests. Overall, the place aesthetics and furniture were lovely but was ruined by...
Read moreI called hotels.com customer service the first time on Monday, September 27th. I explained that the NoHotels Chic Collection people sent me a PayPal invoice requesting $500 plus fees and taxes. Customer Service specifically told me that all payments are supposed to go through Hotels.com and that I should not pay that invoice. She told me not to worry and that customer service would work on cancelling the reservation. She could not reach anyone at the NoHotel Chic Collection. She told me to follow up the next day, which I did. The person I talked to from Hotels.Com customer service on Tuesday, September 28th could not reach anyone at NoHotels Chic Collection either.
The NoHotels Chic Collection people also told me that I needed to pay in advance before arriving to the hotel. I asked if I could pay with a credit card when I arrived, and the NoHotels Chic Collection people told me no, because they had no way to accept a credit card there. Well that’s bizarre. None of that was made aware to me when booking the hotel on hotels.com. Here are the problems that I have:
I do not have PayPal, so I couldn’t even pay for the invoice if I wanted. Nowhere did it say that I would have to pay with PayPal.
I knew there was going to be a security deposit, but it was $522.50. That was $22.50 in “taxes and fees”. That amount would not be refunded nor was any of that disclosed in the listing.
I have never stayed at a hotel where I couldn’t pay a security deposit when I arrived at the hotel. What if I got there and the place was disgusting and I didn’t want to stay? It was never explained anywhere in the listing that I would have to pay before I arrived.
When I talked to Hotels.com customer service on Monday, she told me not to pay the invoice. So I booked another place elsewhere. I did not stay at NoHotels Chic Collection.
I wouldn’t stay here. It seemed really shady. They wouldn’t refund me. Just stay anywhere else and probably don’t use hotels.com. They...
Read moreMy stay at the nohotel was amazing. Before I even checked in the customer service was a 10 out of 10. The front desk is very thorough and pays attention to detail. The concierge ask you if you need anything before you need anything. The housekeeping is very friendly and super kind. And most of all the housekeeping was extremely respectful. I loved it so much I decided to extend my stay for a few more days and it was definitely worth it. Also very secure and love how there is a security gate would definitely stay again. I recommend giving this hotel a try before any other. It’s also very aesthetic And the beds are so...
