Wish they had a negative star. I am a regular customer at tabla. We go there at least once a week. Last week I took my family who were visiting from India. Thinking that they would love the place, Instead it was the most embarrassing moment I had at the restaurant that I really didn’t liked. The server named Priya was the rudest employee I think they have ever hired. On top of that the bar tender who calls him self a manager Rahul ( which he is not ) was not helpful at all. It looked like he took her side and came up to us talking in a very very bad tone in front of my guest, and family! No qualifications of being a manger or a server at such restaurant like tabla! Here’s exactly what happened. We ordered some bhindi and it came in a different way from all the previous times that we have ordered. I asked Priya if she can get it remade the way it’s suppose to be. With out even asking the chef she rudely said it can’t be made that way any more! I ended up asking for a different server who had always served our table in past and knows us very well. He shows up and Priya get annoyed and goes up to the bar tender saying we are being rude to her. The bartender so called manager (Rahul) ended up coming to our table and In a very rude way said “PLEASE DONT BE RUDE TO MY SERVER.” and started taking our order. The way he was taking our order in such an angry way I felt like just getting up and leaving. But since we had already started eating our appetizers I thought it was wrong to just to leave. Instead of apologizing Priya kept showing her nasty attitude the whole time she was passing our table. It was not only uncomfortable eating there but also was disgusting. I will never go there again not even if they offer me the best of all services. I would also recommend others. If you guys go there and have Priya or Rahul as your server. Just get up and leave. I would rather have some fast food than them serving my table. They have 0 qualifications in them! Just new of them, tabla restaurant has lost a...
Read moreVery disappointing management values and ethics (Tabla Buckhead). We called before going and they said even though they can’t reserve, they have a table wrapping up in a few minutes and it would be available for us three so we should come there. We reached in a few minutes and they asked us to wait for about 10-15 mins and pointed inside to a table and said they have paid their check and should be done soon. That was fine with us and we waited for about 15 mins. Right then a couple walked in and realized they had reservation at the wrong tabla, not this one. The person at the front decided to give our table instead to them and decided to seat us at the bar table instead. The other couple was not Indian and unfortunately this person decided that we could be seated anywhere (taking us for granted being Indian). Then another couple walked in (not Indian) and he told them that he would give them a regular table inside. When we told him he was going to give us the regular table that we had been waiting for, he said he never told us which table he would give us even though he had pointed to it when we entered and we had been waiting as per his request. It was very disappointing to see discrimination by your own. I don’t expect to see any form of discrimination for any ethnicity but unfortunately that’s how the restaurant operates. Not sure what this person gained by doing that but we will never recommend a restaurant with poor values even if the food and ambience is good. We decided to go to another Indian restaurant and got excellent service. In fact the other Tabla (original one) was very courteous and upfront on the phone that they only have bar seating available for us so we can decide. We went to another place. Values and ethics make all the difference to any establishment. No form of discrimination should...
Read moreLet's get this right...if I could, I would give this 0 stars. This is my second experience at this location and it is a joke (1st and 2nd experience same). Don't get me wrong food is great however (not authentic to india but good nonetheless), when you serve $$$ food...serving etiquette should be strong. All your host/hostess and waiter/waitress should take a serving etiquette course. Absolutely ridiculous, 1. wrong of them to roll eyes and sigh when called upon, 2. had to call 4-5x to want something and then would walk away as if we didn't call them (they obviously heard us call) (then the waiter has the audacity to say don't call anyone else...like where were you...this dude came twice: first for order and then for check, nowhere to be seen), 3. when called upon don't take 5 mins and then bring something very late once we are done eating, 4. also doesn't take 3 staff members to set up a 4 seat table (wasting time when they could help a table), 5. I don't know what it is about y'all breathing on people, and being in their personal space (back-up), 6. then puts their finger deep in the dish (this happened many times), 7. I also got hit in the head with the serving dish (like back up and ask for help...we have no problem taking it), 8. additionally, you need to address everyone the same...why is it that with white ppl its all smiles and yes ma'am/sir...with us service was very rude...like what are we chopped liver...we are all paying the same to be there. Absolutely ridiculous service...never would want to go back. Clearly they don't want to work. Both times service was...
