I went to Breakfast at Barney’s on a Saturday at around 10:30am. The security at the front door was nice and instructed us to wait in line to reserve a table. We were in this line for about 15 min and put our names down for the bar and a table (yes there’s a wait for the bar) and were instructed to wait outside. There was outside seating and heaters. We waited for 12 minutes and received a text that our table was ready and we were instructed by security to wait in another line for our table. We ended up being seated at the bar where bartender Tatiana took care of us. To drink, we the Sanford Old Fashion (made with don julio añejo) and had 2 each (4 total). To eat, we had the lamb and eggs, New York steak and eggs, and a side of waffles.
My thoughts on the wait: I appreciate the sincerity of security as he instructed us through the lines. He was kind which is not always the case for security in Atlanta. My only recommendation for the wait would be to add signs to the lines so customers can clearly understand where they need to wait. Everything was ran efficiently and quickly. Wait score: 4/5
Drinks: The Sanford Old Fashions were delicious and Tatiana was very kind when answering my questions about the drink. Just one of these, I was definitely tipsy. Drink score: 5/5
Food: The lamb comes with a thin gravy, which I wanted on the side but was told it’s cooked in it. The gravy tasted great with the lamb chops, however they were just a little on the cool side. The taste was so flavorful, I ate them anyway. The eggs were also on the cool side and tasted average. The creamy grits were hot and delicious and so was the Texas toast. The apple butter with the toast was amazing. The steak was ordered medium and was cooked properly. It was a NY strip so slightly tough without the mess of the juice, a common breakfast staple. The steak was tasty but the lamb had more flavor in my opinion. Last, the waffles, which was actually my favorite. There was syrup on the side but also a little on the waffle itself. The syrup soaking in the waffle made it fluffy and flavorful. Food score: 4/5
Service score: Overall, the service was amazing. Everyone was kind, even when our food was brought to us we were asked how we were doing. When Tatiana was busy, someone else assisted with cleaning our finished plates and bringing to go boxes. You are also served with your food on a mat, which I thought was unique and efficient. Last, for parking they offer valet next door. Service score: 5/5
Price: The food price was expected but there were no prices on the drinks which were about $30 each. Our total bill came out around $200. A little pricey, and may not be the best option for a first date, but definitely worth the price. 18% gratuity is also included on the check, but Tatiana was so amazing we left her a little...
Read moreFinally made it to Breakfast at Barney’s to see what all the talk was about. We had close to a 30 minute wait before our table was ready but we were originally told it would be like an hour.
The hostess was inviting and friendly. FYI if this is your first time make sure you put your name on the list before standing in line. I think I stood in line for about 10 minutes before realizing that was the process after asking the person in front of me.
After we sat it took like 15 minutes before anyone greeted us. Finally, another waitress took our drink order and informed us our actual server would be right out. When the server finally made it to our table, she apologized for the delay as she had just started her shift and don’t know we were in her section. I am sure she seen the impatience I was having, however her approach did soften my mood. That was not the best impression to receive as a first time guest, so hopefully they figure out a better system to alert there wait staff who are just clocking in.
Let’s talk food, we ordered the Emperors breakfast with turkey bacon and grits. The house made jam was really good that we spreader on the thick buttered toast.
I love fried green tomatoes and will order them every time I see them on a menu. I ordered some and when I tell you they were seasoned to perfection, cooked crispy, and not greasy at all. This was my first time having some that were sprinkled with feta cheese. I should have ordered some to go! You will receive 4 tomatoes per order. Definitely a winner and can’t go wrong ordering them.
The vegan yacht toast was on point and an excellent choice for any true vegan lover. The meal was so filling and super healthy with just the right amount of avocado. The arugula was fresh, the split tomato’s were juicy, and you cannot tell your eating vegan toast. There is even some black eyed peas for a little razzel dazzle.
Lastly is the salmon croquettes and eggs. You are eating fresh salmon nothing canned. The croquettes are fairly large in comparison to other restaurants. Definitely taste like they are cooked in a cast iron skillet. The salmon was not dried out and they did not disappoint.
I ordered a peach Bellini which was the perfect compliment to my meal.
I will definitely patronize this restaurant again because the food is amazing and although the service started off a little rough our server did a good job overall!
Expect a wait especially if you want to go on a weekend. Park in the garage, and don’t forget to add your name to the wait list. They do not take...
Read moreI was recommended this place. My girls and I flew in from the Bay and it was horrible. The atmosphere was nice to be amongst my people's. However, when we first arrived at 12pm they told us a 20min so we sat in the back where they provided seating for waiting customers, which I thought that was a cool idea. We waited patiently for a table of 4. Then we realized that people after us were getting seated. We spoke to the manager I forgot her name but it started with a M. She was very rude, bumping into tho hostess and waitress without acknowledging them. I understand it was busy but you should still have manners. She was very short with us explaining why we were overlooked. She squeezed us at this little table that was made for two instead of putting us at an empty booth that was behind us. Remind you it's 1:30pm now. We ordered our food and we started noticing people that was seated before us didn't have their food yet. A party of five with children that was to our left got up and left with only water glasses at the table. Shortly after a couple to our left got up and left with their alcohol beverages on the table. Those guest food NEVER came out. Then I noticed the empty booth we requested now have people seating there and guess what. Their food came out as we are still seating here with no food. We call the manager back over that started with M. We asked her what was going on and she tried to blame it on our waitress and it was NOT her fault. She was a gem we really appreciated her. So she went to the kitchen and everyone food came out. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was dark which let me know it was fried in old grease. I ate a piece of the waffle that was not done and tasted like dough. Apparently she didn't walk away and saw my face. She immediately asked what was wrong and I told her. She took the plate and said I will take it off your bill. Never asked if it was something else I wanted or came back to see if I was okay. It is now 2:45pm and I have not are only had a mimosa. The manager came back with the bill and told me she took the meal off but I needed to pay for the mimosa. I looked at my bill and she added the table gratuity to my bill only. We were only a party of 4 not 6 as stated on the menu. I read the reviews before I went but I said let me try it for myself. I should have listened to the reviews. I WILL NEVER...
