The first time we visited Chicken on Fire, it was an absolute 10/10 experience. Luis took excellent care of us—he was both the cook and the cashier, and even though he was handling everything alone on a busy Saturday, the service and food were outstanding. Huge kudos to him!
Unfortunately, our second visit was the complete opposite..more like a 2/10. While the sweet chili shrimp was tasty, the teriyaki chicken bowl was disappointing. The rice was so hard it was inedible. I called to let them know, and the woman on the phone offered an extra side of rice, but that wasn’t what I wanted..I wanted the dish to be as good as it was the first time. I explained that I only had a few bites and would prefer to exchange it for something else, and she agreed.
When I came in to swap it out, she inspected the dish and then tried to convince me that the rice was fine, saying things like “I’m Asian, I eat rice all the time,” and “the whole team tasted the rice and thought it was fine.” She also claimed they just “used less water in the rice.” In the end, I had to choose a different dish, which cost more. She waived the $3 difference, but what should have been one easy trip for a great meal turned into two trips and an extra 20-minute wait.
It’s really disappointing because my first experience here made me so excited to come back, but the inconsistency makes me unsure if I’ll...
Read moreMy husband and I couldn’t think of a place to eat, so we decided to try something new! This was way better than we even anticipated. We each got a tender combo - one with Sweet + Spicy and one Honey Garlic. First off, these are not your run-of-the-mill tenders. They are obviously made in house, large and they are DELICIOUS. It’s like the best fried chicken ever just on its own and both sauces were so good. They had such a nice crunch and the meat was succulent. One thing I would say is we could have shared 1 combo together for sure - it’s definitely not small.
We also got the fried dumplings and omg. I don’t even like pork and I couldn’t stop eating these. The quality of everything was 10/10.
Everything was excellent. My husband is a huge foody and honestly a bit of a food snob 😂 and he just said “I would give this place a literal 6/5. I don’t have a single complaint. Fingers crossed this hidden gem stays a gem.”
❤️ We will...

Now , let’s talk about the service. Everyone is so friendly . Greeted upon entering with a a warm smile , and a walkthrough of the menu- which is plentiful as far as options but not in a confusing way.
The atmosphere is cozy , and feels warm- I think this is because of the light fixtures accompanied by the wood decor . I always carry out , but I love that they have a dine in option.
On to the food , and the pictures serve it no justice I promise! The chicken- crispy , flavorful and fried to golden perfection. They have sauce options - but I opt for the original style . This was paired with fried rice what came with eggs and a good amount of veggies ! Lastly , the sweet mayo fried shrimp , I could eat 12 by myself lol.
I think this is exactly with the neighborhood needed! Good food and...
