I've been to this café several times, and every other time I've been here, it has been perfect. But this visit was different, and not in a good way. The server didn't provide very good service for us. He did not wear a mask, which means every person he served may now have Covid. He chased us from our chosen table, stating it was reserved, though it had no sign on it and the place was nearly empty. But ok. Though at no time in our 1 1/2 hour long stay was that table ever used. I got a club sandwich, which was very thick (nice) but when I bit a piece of it, cheese spilled onto my blouse. It turns out they had put shredded cheese in the sandwich! Who does that? If the sandwich were grilled or panini'd, I can see that, but this one I had to eat with knife and fork. The server of course got friendlier when it was time for us to pay the check. We tipped as we always do, because nobody should be forfeited their livelihood just because they're not stellar at...
Read moreMy wife left a pair of nice sunglasses at the restaurant the other day, immediately called back and spoke to her server. Her server (very nice) said she had them, took my wife’s name, and said she’d put the glasses in a safe place for her.
When we returned, no glasses. Just a free for all lost and found basket. Staff seemed sincerely apologetic.
The owner could not have copped a bigger attitude with me when his staff member offered for us to talk. “So tell me about your “expensive” (yes, with air quotes) sunglasses. Claimed his server must have “misspoke” minutes after one of his team spoke to her again by phone. “We don’t have your glasses. I don’t know what you want me to do.”
Loved the fake Parisian attitude. Won’t be dining there again despite living a mile away and many...
Read moreDelightful and simple this little Café in the bustling Peachtree Battle shopping plaza is a quaint respite of French soups, salads, sandwiches, cakes and cookies. Busy during lunch and if you're old school Atlanta you'll probably run into folks you know. Mostly older crowd dotted with some hipsters and young mothers with babies. Staff is pleasant and most of the time cheerful. The food is consistently yummy if you like tuna, chicken and egg salad type dishes. The French Onion soup is a must. Specials include salmon and crab cakes. Ask for bread and butter, they don't automatically give it to you. Wish they had gluten free bread and pastries. Parking will require a couple of rounds in the lot to find a spot. Price is around $10 for lunch, not bad. Dinner is...
