If you would have asked me before visiting Cinnaholic about some of my favorite desserts or pastries, cinnamon rolls wouldn't even be on the list. They just aren't my favorite sweet and they often have a ton of dairy which I can't eat. Fast forward to this weekend. We were on a girl's birthday trip around the city eating all things vegan. I saw the reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. There were 3 of us and we each ordered a different roll. After starting to dig in the "oooohs and aaaaahs" coming from our table were comical. It was so incredibly good that we couldn't stop commenting. The menu on the wall had some signature rolls and then a build your own menu; however, there was a glass case with many other suggested rolls. The choices seemed endless. My two friends got one with brownies and chocolate and the other had bananas and a maple drizzle. They loved them and almost could not finish. There were no "cons". I absolutely love orange and fruity flavors. I saw one in the case with orange frosting and two types of berry jam drizzled on top. It was the perfect choice!! After finishing my roll, I had to refrain from licking the cardboard. It was really exceptional. The best part was everything is vegan. Unlike a lot of dessert places with only one or two options, I could choose anything. On top of that, there was no way to tell it was vegan. Anyone would like this place. I also brought home a roll with brownies and chocolate on top. I enjoyed it, but it was really rich. The one I ate in the restaurant was so different and delicious it's definitely at the top of my favorites list. The staff was very nice and the bathroom was clean. There were a few little tables and chairs which was nice. It was quite busy which means people really dig this spot. This is a place you will want to share with others. I'll definitely be back. My waistline says not too soon, but my tastebuds disagree.

Rough first experience with Cinnaholic. Wife and I had been so excited to finally be able to have good vegan cinnamon rolls. Went in for a takeout order to bring home for my wife late Saturday night. We live in the west side of town so no locations are that close. Decided to just start simple for the first time. Two cookies and two cinnamon rolls (cream cheese & strawberries). Crew working were very nice and I didn’t have to wait very long for my order. Grabbed my bag and headed home. We knew the cream cheese was going to be somewhat melted since the cinnamon rolls were hot and fresh, but unfortunately it was a very oily liquid. And to top, no strawberries on either. The roll itself was still amazing (ate before a photo). We pulled out the cookies and were disappointed to see two flat cookies that looked like a batch of vegan cookies I had screwed up trying to bake before. Oily with no rise and barely holding together. :( Just seeing all the amazing buns and cookies online and all the great reviews, I can’t give up with one visit. Hoping it was just an off night.

A very unique sweet treat! Cool to see that this place has a location in Edgewood Retail District when most of their locations are far outside of the city. We were originally looking for ice cream but the allure of a bespoke cinnamon bun was too much to pass up. They not only sell cinnamon buns with just about any (ice cream style) toppings you can imagine and even different flavored icing! They also sell cookie dough by the scoop and had some baked goods available for sale. This shop is small but there was constant after-dinner traffic during the whole time we were there. Cinnaholic even sells pizza rolls and breadsticks for savory treats if you are not looking for a sweet cinnamon bun. I got a roll with vanilla icing and sprinkles. It was really good and appreciated the novelty of getting to choose toppings. I will say, however, that it didn't really taste better than a Cinnabun. It's a unique treat that is worth a try (and the kids loved it), but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again.

So, don't get this wrong, Cinnaholic is good...really good.

Now a lot of people order cinnamon rolls not just for the delicious fluffy roll, but for the great frosted topping to go with it and there at Cinnaholic they have multiple flavors. As pictures have shown, you got an excellent roll and a fair to genereous amount of topping with the roll. It is such that I acclaimed it to friends and coworkers, it wasn't too pricey for what you received, and I preferred it over cinnabon. Now while some would be like, multiple flavors of frosting, that's great. Well hold on, with that great roll, fair amount of frosting, you cand add toppings! Go in, and get chocomarsh frosting topped with marshmallows, chocolate chips, brownie bites and sprinkles, and you have yourself a hot chocolate roll. They have a few signature styles, but you can also build your own. My personal Fave is the Brownie Cheesecake.

While I did recently have issues with changes in preparation, a lot of that was fixed after a previous review and you could see that they took to heart that brief period of missing skimped frosting, making sure the rolls made after, particularly on the very busy Valentine's Day, were made properly. I went back recently and each roll was perfectly balanced in greatness, a sign of customer care and afftection towards the product, and with the line of people there, and a hi to a friend I saw on her way after I introduced her to their rolls after that small period, I think this is a great place to drop by for anyone who loves cinnamon rolls.

All said, if you are looking for that classic cinnamon roll or a cinnamon roll with a twist, this is the place you should absolutely...

I had a very terrible experience at this Cinnaholic. I got the vanilla cinnamon roll, which I always do, and it had balls of some type of substance in it throughout the icing, that looked like soy wax balls. So, I went back in for an exchange for a different icing flavor on a new roll. I’ve always gone to a different Cinnaholic, so I know that’s not how it usually is. The cashier that they have working at this location had an incredibly poor attitude. She stated her name was Kamaria, don’t know if that’s true. Terrible tone, snapping her neck at me as she was talking. Absolutely poor customer service. They definitely need someone there who isn’t quick to have an attitude. It became a whole situation, because the quality was poor, and wanted to change the flavor, in the hopes that that was just a bad batch. She should be fired, truly and honestly. Or placed in the back or something, because that was ridiculous. And the worst thing is that they didn’t care that the quality was obviously poor in that batch. So if they used that to make all of their icing for the day, they needed to check the quality in the rest of their supply, and redo it if it was poor quality. It’s truly a shame, that they were going to continue to serve that poor quality icing to other customers for the rest of the day. Terrible quality control. Unfortunate enough that I tasted the icing while I was in my car, but many people are gonna go home and taste that and see that that’s not what they paid for, and they just did not have a care in the world, Which is...
