OMGGGGG. Insert drooling emoji. We went at 8:45 pm on a Friday. There wasn’t anyone there, but I suspect that’s because it’s December and it was cold AF. However, I’m sure they’ll do very well when it gets warmer! The employees were so nice and friendly.
I appreciate the precautions they’re taking for COVID. One employee had a spray bottle in hand and they were spraying and cleaning a decent amount while we were there. They require masks and even offer free masks! They don’t allow eating inside. Employees were wearing masks the correct way. Go Jeni’s!
They have a Single (1 full scoop of 1 flavor, $5), a Standard (2 half scoops, $5), and a Trio (3 half scoops, $6). I mean...for one extra dollar, how can you not go for the Trio?! They also have a Flight (10 half scoops, $19 I believe). Half scoops ain’t no joke either. She described a half scoop as the size of a cue ball in pool, and a full scoop the size of a softball! Their half scoops are other ice cream places’ full scoops.
This was my first time at Jeni’s and I see what all the fuss is about! Everything I tried was amaaaazing. Between me, my sister, and my husband, we had 7 flavors: Wildberry Lavender, Skillet Cinnamon Roll, Brambleberry Crisp, White Chocolate Peppermint, Salty Caramel, Campfire Chocolate, and Gooey Butter Cake. Everything was amazing. The Wildberry Lavender tasted like lotion, but in the best way possible haha. Everything was true to its description. The employee taking our order gave me a disclaimer about the Campfire Chocolate, that it has a smoky taste. She said some people like it while others don’t. It reminded me of mezcal, the smoky tequila. I don’t like mezcal normally, but the smoky flavor really worked here! It’s strong at first, but as I took more bites, I got used to it and it became more subtle. It also worked well with the Salty Caramel. If you’re unsure, I would say go with something else. But if you’re willing to take a risk, go for it! The waffle cones were delicious. Sweet, but not too sweet.
I will...
Read moreI had my very first Jeni’s experience two weeks ago, and it was an absolute delight! The stars seemed to align because My son had just finished an unexpected Saturday doctor's appointment (sinusitis) and, on our walk back to the car, we passed the Glenward Park location. It felt like a sign we couldn't ignore.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The young man on duty was the true star of the show. He was incredibly professional, patient, and so knowledgeable. He even gave us a heads up on all the new fall flavors that would be dropping. He didn't rush us at all as we tried to decide, and he even noticed my teen son, who had immediately locked in on securing a "study" the moment we entered.
He engaged with my son directly, offering fantastic suggestions and explaining the flavors in a way that was both fun and informative. It was so refreshing to feel like we weren't a bother but that he was genuinely happy to have our business and help us choose the perfect treat.
My first Jeni’s ice cream was everything I hoped for and more—incredibly rich, flavorful, and unique. But what truly made the experience special was the outstanding customer service. It’s clear that Jeni’s invests in their team, and it shows. This was more than just an ice cream run; it was a bright spot in our day. I can now say with certainty that Jeni’s is worth every single penny! We will...
Read moreCustomer service is TRASH at the Glenwood Park location and I will not be going back. I really wanted to like this shop because it's in my neighborhood. On several occasions the servers have either had an attitude or not been knowledgable about the product (which would be fine if they don't take it out on a customer). I recently went to the shop and inquired what season the parlor sells the mint chocolate chip/green mint flavor. I was told twice that "Jeni's doesn't sell that flavor" I showed that the brand does in fact sell that particular flavor (per company website) and I was met with an eye roll and the response of "we don't sell it in stores, that's online only" (which I don't believe because I have had the flavor at several other locations across the US.)
If you don't know the flavors/rotations...just say that. Don't gaslight your customers. The lack of personnel turned me off from supporting this location which is...
